Running after GOLD!

Gold is such a overrated and inspiring color this season that I had to concoct another look using some more 'Gold'. It being the metal that represents 'Sun' on earth, Gold has truly unique properties to brighten up your face. Even the gold color imparted on 'mica' gives same radiance as the real gold dust would do (of course prices of cosmetics would have soared sky-high plus 'gold dust' can be bit harmful to body.')

Urban Decay Naked Palette is like treasure chest. Every time I look at it I find something innovative to do and its the most 'failproof' and 'failsafe' palette you will ever see (except Naked 2 palette on which I want to put my hands on). They have an unpredictable mishmash of neutral shimmers and mattes (just 2) in cool and warm tones that would flatter most of complexions. Best part is you get all this in one place and their gold called 'Half Baked' is sumptuous, satisfying and uber metallic. It has certain bronze-ish element which adds lot of glamour to the eyeshadow, although on my NC 40 skin it looks pretty golden.

Lets get on to the look:-

FACE

  • Clinique Superbalanced Makeup
  • Shiseido Natural Creamy concealer
  • Clinique Blended Face Powder
  • Elizabeth Arden Bronzing Shimmer Powder in Golden applied all over the place for a luminous glow and not to look tanned. I used the light golden shades more than bronze ones from the bronzer quad.
LIPS
  • Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lipstick in Perfect brick applied as a stain.

EYES
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance over the entire eye lid.
  • Line eye rims with Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in Really Black
  • I am using Urban Decay Naked Palette colors in Sin, Creep, Smog, Half Baked and Dark Horse.
  • Apply 'Sin' as highlight on brow bone and in inner corners.
  •  With MAC 219 trace 'Creep' on line drawn with eye pencil and blend blend blend. Similarly smoke out on outer third of lower lid.
  • Apply 'Dark Horse' on outer corners and blend in outer crease with Sigma SS224 brush.
  • Continue drawing and defining the crease with 'Smog' till desired. Then use bit of 'Smog' and smoke out on the lower lid towards the inner corners to meet 'Sin'.
  • With MAC 217 pat on 'Half Baked' on lid blending it sidewards to avoid harsh lines.
  • Trace inner rims of lower lid with Really Black.
  • Curl lashes with Shiseido Eye lash curler and add on Clarins Instant Definition Mascara.
You are ready for another glammed up evening. Here are some more pics.

Hope you liked the look. More of such neutral DIY looks to follow.

Till then,

Ciao
