Shades of Purple!!

Girly or sultry, purple is one of those colors that never fails. You do a smokey purple or a bright purple, the effect is always bedazzling and wonderful.

In this post, I would be incorporating two looks, a doll like eyes and femme fatale look (imagine Le Smoking suits of YSL) using some really amazing purples from my stash.

Dolly eyes

Daring purples

FACE
  • Clinique Even Better Makeup SPF 15
  • Clinique All About Eyes concealer
  • Clinique Blended Loose Powder
  • Clinique Blushing Blush in Smoldering plum
  • Clinique Fresh bloom all over color in Peony
LIPS
  • Clinique Long last lipstick in Violet Berry
  • Clinique Superbalm in Lilac
EYES

'Dolly Eyes'

This look is transparent and sheer with soft smoking and fading of the eyeshadows.

  • TFSI on lids to secure color.
  • No opaque base applied to keep the look transparent like sparkling waters.
  • MAC Topknot eyeshadow on the outer corners and outer crease. Also smoked on lower lids.
  • Bourjois Clubbing liner traced on the upper lash line and inner rims of lower lids.
  • Highlight browbone with Girlactik Eyeshadow in Satin
  • In the crease apply a blend of MAC eyeshadows in Marvel and Shock-a-holic for light and dark effect.
  • On the entire lid, dust UD eyeshadow in Omen and inner corners apply UD Midnight 15
  • Curl lashes and apply lots of Clinique High Impact Curling mascara.
  • Set brows with brow gel.

'Daring purples'

Its an interplay of matte black purple base with pink and purple glitters intertwined to create evening smoke with pixie dust.

  • UDPP on lids followed by MAC Paint pot in Quite Natural
  • Highlight brow bone and inner corners with MAC eyeshadow in Sunday best.
  • On the entire lid upto crease blend Bourjois intense eyeshadow in 10 Extrait to create a matte black smokey base. I used a fluffy brush to blend the color.
  • Dampening a flat brush (Shiseido small eyeshadow brush), on the entire lid apply MAC mineralize eyeshadow in She Who Dares
  • Trace the lower rims with Bourjois Khol & Contour in Brun Design.
  • Apply false lashes and then line the upper lash line with L'Oreal Carbon gloss liner in Black Gloss. Curl lashes and apply MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara.
  • Fill in the brows with MAC eyeshadow in Dark Edge and set with brow gel.

The blushers and lip products remain common as they compliment both the looks. It just depends on the intensity of application.

I hope you like this melange of purples and two really bright looks. Do enter my Giveaway as it is just a few days away.

Till then,

Ciao

  1. oh this purple is fabulous. Neeraj,I have a question for you... what eyeliner and eye-shadow shade suits Indian skin tone, especially those who have a deep brown iris. I was imagining khaki green or would you say purple? since you are an experienced makeup-artist I thought you would know which one looks the most stunning.

    1. Any color that contrasts iris like greens, blues or purples look good. The idea is deeper the iris color, the brighter contrast should be the eyeshadow color. Do try to palettes like Urban Decay as they have really vivid dramatic colors.Btw BH cosmetics has an amazing Tropical Shimmer palette that u must buy if u want many more color choices.
