Cobalt Cat!!

This color may not be truly cobalt but the alliteration sounded good thats why the name. This is essentially the easiest way to don a bright blue and look dramatically different. This is stylish, sophisticated and more importantly easy and quick.

The cat's eye flick is one of the trendiest makeup looks and everyone looks perfectly done with cat's eye. With the black not being necessary and just used in mascara to create a contrast, this look is wonderful. I am planning to make versions of cat's eye liner in various versions of pinks, reds, greens etc. and this happens to be one of them.

Layering a clear frosted blue eyeshadow over a similar colored eye liner with a darker blue or purple liner as a lowlights creates this dramatic look.

Lets see how to do it!

Prep and prime the eye lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer.

Subtly washed a beige white eyeshadow like MAC Daisychain on the eyelids.

Highlight the inner corners and brow bone with Girlactik eyeshadow in Satin and contour the lids with a hint of MAC eyeshadow in Dark Edge. Fill the brows with same eyeshadow.

To create base for the bright blue color and add opacity (otherwise if applied directly the blue shimmer goes translucent and does not create impact) trace the lash line with Bourjois Khol and contour eye pencil in Bleu Surprenant. Then thicken the line as desired and draw a flick, roughly.

Layer the blue based purple liner with NYX retractable pencil in Blue Eyes and smudge.

With a pencil brush or an angled liner brush (former thickens and smokes while latter gives better edges) walk MAC Submarine eyeshadow throughout the liner and define the wing of liner.

Curl lashes with Shiseido eyelash curler and apply one coat of Revlon Grow Luscious lashes mascara.

After 30 seconds or so when the first mascara coat is semi-dry apply second coat of mascara wiggling the wands through lashes to avoid clumping.

Pair it with a warm pink blush or coral blush as needed and slick on some clear transparent gloss to make it look youthful. Transparent pink would do too!!Isnt it easy yet dramatic?
