A day with soft blues!!

Blue as what everyone wears or dreams of wearing is a dramatic, bold, statement kind of blue. But there are also ones out there who wear a subtle blue to work or a meeting and look elegant. What I love is how a serene soft blue makes brown eyes appear incredibly chocolate-y and alluring.

Clinique is world wide known for their softer and muted versions of bright color that makes these colors universally acceptable and wearable. Whether its a blue or purple, a soft smokey eye goes really effortless with such muted colors. I have used Clinique's Color Surge Quad eyeshadow in Polar Blue to do a soft breezy smokey eye for every day. Since I have used a lighter hand the colors are more muted and blend seamlessly to create a gradation.

These blues instantly wake up tired eyes and add a bit of freshness to face. Lets see how to do this look.......

Prep the lids with Too Face Shadow Insurance primer to get true color, hold and longevity of the eyeshadow.

Apply Clinique All About eyes concealer under eyes and inner corners to take away any blue-ness and signs of tiredness. Set it with powder. Since the concealer also has treatment benefits it wakes up eyes while camouflaging dark circles with their yellow-peach undertones.

Use the 'bone' beige' highlighter from Clinique Color Surge Quad in POLAR BLUE to highlight brow bone and inner corners of eyes.

Line the lash line with Clinique Quickliner for eyes in Really Black and smudge using the smudger provided at the back of the pencil. Keep the liner muted and bit charcoal looking to avoid stark bold lines.

Apply 'grey taupe' color from the quad to deepen the crease yet make it look lively due to hint of silver in the color. This prevents eyes from sinking in.

Apply 'shimmering navy' from the Polar blue quad on the outer half and blend it into the lash line and crease.

Apply 'soft pale blue' from the Polar blue quad on the inner half and merge it into the navy blue. Since the colors are shimmery and softly frosted they look wonderful when paired with eachother.

Create a reflection of the upper lid on the lower lid too. You can see how it uplifts tiredness and brings out the blue in my eyes which were worn out after running in the hospitals and ICUs.

Tightline and trace the inner rims with Quickliner for eyes in Really Black.

Finish off with 2-3 coats of Clinique High Definition mascara in Black for defined yet voluptuous lashes after curling lashes with Shiseido eye lash curler. Tame the brows with lash and brow comb

You can see how soft these blues turn out to be and yet have a sophisticated effect. The colors are subtly frosted and look very sultry in the evenings as well.

Pair up this look with a whisper of plum blush and highlight for a pink dewy glow for the evenings. Add a dash of berry lipstick and it goes as a perfect cool look. No added warmth here unnecessarily.
