I love to do atypical combinations and felt that a pink-mauve would look amazing when paired with a fresh bronze. To do this look I couldn't think of any palette except BH cosmetics 88 Tropical shimmer palette that has some of the most magnificent colors that may not be available as a single color in any brand.
The funny part of BH cosmetics is that their palettes do not have many repeated colors and each has an individualistic hue that may not be seen in other palette. I dont deny the fact that there are no repetitions but they are less compared to other palettes.
Another factor that attracted me to BH cosmetics is that the colors hold on so well and glide as smooth as butter which shows that the fillers are less. They have mineral oil (some schools say its good and some say its bad) which maybe doing the favor of making these eyeshadows glide better. The shimmer formulas have negligible fallouts although this is very subjective.
BH Cosmetics Tropical Shimmer Palette
have used lots of shimmer based colors to open up the eyes and make them light and floaty. Have also tried to not use dark liners on the upper lids to keep the look easy and breezy.
Lets see how to create this mauve bronze look..........
FACE
- Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation
- Bourjois Anti-cernes pinceau brush concealer
- Bourjois Healthy Mix Powder foundation
- Clinique True Bronzer in Sunswept
- Clinique Freshbloom All over color in Almond Blossom (just the highlighter)
- Use a mauve colored lipstick or a bronze one. I liked Violet Berry from Clinique.
- Prime the eyes with Too Faced Shadow Insurance eyeshadow primer over the entire lid.
- I used the colors marked with a star from the BH cosmetics Tropical Shimmer palette.

- Begin with a medium bronze in the crease using Lancome's Precision eyeshadow brush.
- Merge it at the outer corners with darker bronze which is also smoked on the lower lid. Drag the shadow on the outer edge to give the eye an elongated almond shaped appearance.
- A pinkish mauve colored eyeshadow is used as a highlighter for brow bone and in the inner corners.
- Mauve with pink undertones and packed with lots of shimmer is applied on the entire lid and blended sidewards.
- Brows are filled with MAC Dark Edge and set with a brow gel to tame the hair.
- Line the inner rims of the lower lash line with Bourjois Khol and contour in Brun design.
- Lashes are curled with Shiseido eyelash curler and lots of MAC Opulash mascara is used to define and elongate them
This is a lovely easy look to do on the onset of spring.
Btw this maybe one of the few completed looks that I would be posting, hopefully (though you will find such posts erupting in between). The future posts as and when I get time would be proper tutorials of makeup showing step by step way to create amazing makeup looks. Since God has given me only 2 eyes I can do maximum 2 different looks at a time and thence you would not see a pic with both eyes any more (hopefully). I took this decision when a lot of my wonderful readers requested for tutorials and it wasnt so easy to create some of the dramatic looks that I did before. I hope you agree on this and do let me know if you liked the idea.
Till then,
Ciao
