Three Blushketeers.....

This post is inspired from a question on amazing reader asked me. This question was on mixing different blushes and different textures and how to do that. So I thought of doing a post called 'Blush-keteers' again inspired from Three Musketeers...

I love blushes and would love to own all the blushes from all the brands. Thanks to the new technologies now mixing and matching textures like colors has become easy and possible and millions of thanks to 'Silicones'. There is a group of people who maybe allergic to silicones but I guess they dont exist in India. Btw please let me know if you know of anyone who is allergic to silicones and parabens. Would love to ask them a few questions on their skin care.

NOTE : - This is my first face pic on my blog. Please don't mind the receding hairline and sagging jawline.

Lets see how to get this flushed look with 3 products of different textures..........

Products used (reviews coming soon): -
  • Shiseido Accentuating Stick
  • Benefit Hoola bronzer
  • NARS Orgasm Illuminator

Without makeup. Cleansed, Exfoliated and Moisturized. I have used Clarins Instant Smooth Perfect touch primer to create a matte finish.

Mixed MAC Pro Longwear foundation SPF 10 in NC 42 and NC 40 to create a natural looking base. Applied with Sigma Sigmax flat top kabuki brush.

Conceal the under eye area with Clinique All About eyes (shade no. 6) to combat dark circles and add freshness to the face.

Apply 3 spots of Shiseido Accentuating Stick in Rosy Flush the way shown below. This is the cream blush that we apply before powdering the face.

Blend it with fingers or a small duo fibre brush. The former helps the product to melt into skin due to the heat generated and the latter gives a sporty flush. Depends on your choice.

Subtly apply Clinique Blended Face Powder with a fluffy paddled powder brush to seal the cream blush. You can just leave it like that as the Accentuating Stick is very long wearing on its own. Contour under the cheek bone and jaw line with a matte chocolate colored bronzer (no orange undertones) like Benefit Hoola Bronzer. Its is matte and shine free and gives a lovely satin finish.

To finish off, apply a gel based blush like NARS Orgasm Illuminator over the heights of the cheeks upto the temples in a crescent shape. Dab the dots in 'C' shaped fashion shown in the pic.

With a foundation brush or fingers blend it into the cream blush.

You may see that there are three different products which are totally different in textures but they blend so well on the skin and create a long lasting dewy glowy flushed effect.
Hope you liked the post. You could try any permutations and combinations of products. Do try it out and let me know.

Till then,

Ciao
