Natural and Brighter!

Finally the spring has arrived and summers are soon to begin. Then there are bright bursts of pinks and corals everywhere. Some of that infectious glamour has arrived at the shores of Beauty Traveller too. I may not own Chanels and Dior despise me (LOL) but I have my version of the lovely soft washed coral eyes and pink lips with an utmost glowing complexion for Spring 2012.

What unbelievably true in this post is that not a single eyeshadow in been used. I have scuplted the eye and the face with subtle washes of shimmery blushes and bronzers to get a perfect definition. This could be inviting as the products used are minimal but the results are guaranteed. It features 2 looks one with the liner and one without to gauge the glam quoitent.

Sometimes its not about complicated eye makeups and dramatic looks. Its a celebration of simplicity and a hope to find happiness and pleasure by just being simple yet striking. So lets see how to do this glowing look........

Conceal the eye area with a very light weight concealer as we do not want any heaviness in the look.

Prime the lids so that the colors stay true. Sometime blush and bronzer colors are not advised to be used in the eye area due to high content of large particles but I don't believe in this at all. If something is made for the face it should go everywhere. That's my philosophy. I must yet admit that certain red pigments are not eye safe until mentioned.

Tame the brows and add MAC Dark Edge to softly define them.Run some brow gel and fix the shape you have created. An uber defined brow is a staple in such looks and undefined caterpillar brows can spell a natural calamity (pun unintended). Begin by defining the contours of the eyes with Benefit Hoola Bronzer. This could act as a base color for the crease.

With a dome shaped crease brush add color till you get the desired effect. I have used Clinique True bronzer in Sunswept. This bronzer has been reviewed here.

Highlight the brow bone and inner corners with Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick in Nectar. I have used a  light pink-coral duo chrome which is the lightest shade of the quint blush. Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks are eye safe so dont worry and use them. It has been reviewed here.

On the outer corners and the crease of upper lid apply carrot orange shimmer from the brick. Softly blend it in to the crease. Add color and layer as required.

Apply soft coral shimmer on the entire lid and blend the color to create a gradation. The bronzer in the crease adds a subtle dimension to the look.

On the lower lid smoke a pinky coral color from the same shimmer brick to create a soft focused definition. You can see how these blush colors illuminated the eyes.

Curl the lashes and apply several coats of MAC Zoom Fast Black lash mascara. Super soft shimmery eyes and super black lashes create a lovely contrast.

This is the finished look without the eyeliner. For eye liner, trace the upper lash line and wing out the liner with L'Oreal Super liner in Carbon gloss.

Keeping the cheeks bright or subtle is totally a personal choice. I kept it bright but not neon, using s shimmer toned blush. The pop of color on the cheeks balanced shimmered eyes and coral or pink drenched lips. On the lips opt for a gloss that has multi colored sparkles and the look is complete.

This sunny shimmery look could be the next big thing in your beauty regimen.

  7. this was one of the most natural look. Using blushes and bronzers on eyes to contour indeed give them natural depth and dimension that doesn't look unnatural. In a hurry , even I like to give a subtle wash of my Fav Colorbar Just earth blush on eyelids and it looks super natural :)
Thanks for the lovely in depth article !
