Cat eyes.....again!

I always wanted to do a dramatic cat's eye since sometime for this Spring 2012. There are many ways to apply eye liner and each one makes a statement. I hope this one does too as it is a twist in the regular lined eyes.

A broken liner like this accentuates the eye shape, elongates round eyes (like mine) and also adds a certain glam quotient to the look.

I have used false lashes to accentuate the eye shape as real lashes look quite 'eaten apart' by the dark eye liner.

So lets see how to do get this glamorous eyes.........

I have used my BH cosmetics 120 eyeshadow palette in 4th edition to achieve this super easy look. I have used the colors marked with an asterisk.

Conceal the under eye area to brighten up the complexion. I have gone a bit dark though so that the shimmers are seen better. But I do not recommend this to the novice.

Prime the lids with an eyeshadow primer.

Highlight the brow bone with a peachy white shimmery eyeshadow from the palette.

Comb and tame the brows to add dimension and neatness to the look.

Trace the upper lash line with a dark black eye pencil. I have used Estee Lauder Double Wear eye pencil in Black Onyx. With a smudger soften the line and push the pigment into the lash line. This liner creates a base for the liquid liner to glide on.

Apply a soft coral-silver duo chrome eyeshadow on the entire lid. See to it that this eyeshadow has more intense shimmer than the highlight eyeshadow so that no crease eyeshadow is needed. Blend the two colors at the summit of the crease.

Apply the same coral-silver eyeshadow on the lower lid and smoke it.

Apply Loreal Super liner carbon black liquid liner as shown in the picture. This is partially inspired by Michelle Phan's videos on how to do eyeliners btw.

Apply the liquid liner in the lower inner and outer corners keeping the mid area of the lower lid simple and shimmery.

Curl lashes and apply several coats of Clinique High Lengths mascara.

Stick on Uroparis no.51 false lashes using Kryolan Clear eyelash glue. The glue looks white in the beginning but dries clear.

Remember to attach the false lashes closest to the lash line as possible. This makes the eyes look super glamorous and complete.

See how the glue dries clear. This shows the spine of the lashes still.

Reapply the liquid liner to hide the lash line of the false lashes. And with an eye lash curler and some mascara, marry the natural lashes with the falsies.

And this is the finished look. You can also tightline the upper lash line to prevent any flesh from peeking through.

Pair it with a soft matte chocolate colored bronzer to contour the cheeks and you can explore various possibilities of lip colors to go with this look. I have opted for a lovely brick red color to make the look a sought-after one.

  1. Absolutely perfect.
OFF TOPIC: what bronzer do you recommend for contouring doc? I have noticed in your list that you have used hoola here. I do have laguna, but it is kind of orange on my medium light complexion. Works beautifully as a bronzer but not too great for contouring. An advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

    1. Thanks a lot!
For contouring a chocolate or cocoa colored bronzer is good preferably without shimmer and without being orange. There are really only a few ones that do not have an orange-y tone.
Dont mind if I say this but I never liked Laguna...and never apply shimmer based bronzers for contouring...I also use BH cosmetics 28 neutral eyeshadow palette for contouring cheeks as they have lovely browns with taupe tones that mimic natural facial shadows.
      Hope this works
