Easy Summer Duets :- Camel and Camellia!

I have had many clients, readers and friends asking on how to use just 2 colors and still pull in a nice and dramatic makeup look? Its actually easy and fun. My idea is to use contrasting colors and create a makeup look without too much of an effort.

It is quite easy and quick to do and still gives a good impact on the entire makeup. In the easy summer duet series I would be doing some of these 2 eyeshadow looks. And here I present Camel and Camellia, where a dirty ochre color of a desert summer meets with a bright fuchsia of the uber beautiful camellia flower. Using a light reflective pink and a softly shimmered ochre as a combination looks enticing.

What I loved is the simplicity and yet how bright this makeup can be! So lets see, how to do this look.

Prepare by applying a concealer in the under eye area and inner corners. Apply an eye primer on the lids to help the eyeshadows adhere better and stay put.

Apply MAC eyeshadow in Ochre style on the outer corners and blend it in the crease.

Intensify the eyes by layering a bit more eyeshadow in the outer corners and also blending the eyeshadow in the inner crease.

Apply Ochre style on the outer half of the lower lids.

Pat on MAC eyeshadow in Lala on the inner and middle one third of the eye lid, while blending it in, into Ochre style. There should not be lines of demarcation as it may look bad and undone. Also apply some Lala eyeshadow in the inner half of the lower lids and smoke it outwards.

Curl lashes and apply 2 coats of mascara. Comb and tame the brows while filling in the color wherever required. Keep it simple and liner free.

To create a dramatic effect, I applied MAC Cool Heat eyeshadow in the crease. But this could break the duet so please do not consider this as a part of the post. LOL

Finish off with a flushed cheek and subtly glossy lips.

    1. Thanks a lot! Always remember to pair a bright color with a darker color to tone down the intensity and add definition. If u r still scared of darker colors then use them as an eye liner!
