BH cosmetics Jenni Rivera Palette Review

A TRAGIC NEWS FOR JENNI RIVERA, A MEXICAN SINGER WHOSE SOULFUL SONGS MADE HER A GREAT NAME IN THE LATIN INDUSTRY AND SHE WAS THE ONE WHO DESIGNED THIS FABULOUS PALETTE FOR BH COSMETICS ON HER EPONYMOUS NAME.
ITS REALLY SAD TO SAY THAT JENNI LOVES NO LONGER AND THE REASON OF HER TRAGIC DEMISE WAS THE PLANE ACCIDENT THAT HAPPENED IN THE REMOTEST AREAS OF MEXICO WHERE ALONG WITH HER, DIED HER PUBLICIST, MAKEUP ARTISTS AND HER MANAGERS.
WE BOW TO JENNI AND MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.....

I recently bought the BH cosmetics Jenni Rivera palette and it has sorted my life to a certain extent. Its one palette that I was really looking for and one must if they want an assortment of dramatic colors and to couple them up with blushes coming in the same palette. Its a fantastic purchase for someone who's a bridal makeup artist, an amateur traveller (to a wedding of course) or someone who's a makeup junkie.

After thoroughly reviewing the palette myself and using it to concoct some basic and dramatic looks I thought this was a good opportunity to review it for my readers.

Lets have a look........................

BH cosmetics website description :-

Re-create Jenni Rivera's fearless eyes with this 36 Color Eyeshadow and Blush palette. Thirty of Jenni's favorite eyeshadow shades include shimmery jewel-tones for a fashion-forward statement, dark black and grays for smoky eyes, and earthy naturals for an everyday look. The six blushes include warm pink shades in both matte and shimmer, and peach and gold shades that help create a flawless natural glow, just like Jenni’s. These rich, high-pigmented colors help achieve the sultry and stunning look that defines Jenni Rivera.

PACKAGING

It comes packed in a sleek black cardboard box with the branding in the front and details of the eyeshadows in the back along with contents and ingredients mentioned.
As you see, it is MADE IN CHINA and there are certain eye brow raising agents used in the preparation of these eyeshadows but whatever it is, I have no issues with the palette. I haven't experienced any eye irritation or allergies and I am completely fine with the below mentioned ingredients. Applauds to BH cosmetics for having the guts to release the ingredients as some brands who sell these palettes elsewhere may not do so.

I had got it shipped from BH cosmetics website and surprisingly it arrived within 2 weeks of its dispatch. It came bubble wrapped and then covered with some more paper in a decent looking box with the mention of BH cosmetics. Since I had also ordered a couple of brushes with it, they came safe too.

FORMULA AND COLORS

It has a melange of cool, warm and neutral colors that come in a variety of finishes from pearl, satin to ultra shimmers. The eyeshadows are amazingly butter soft to touch and translate very well on eyes. They stay put longer (although some of the ultra pigmented ones especially purples and deep reds can stain the eye lid) and better even without a primer and are worth the money.
The blushes are like beautiful whispers of peach and pink with shimmering nuances in some whilst others are satin finish. They do have a typical cosmetic smell but its not over powering. They remind me as dupes of certain MAC colors and I would need your help to decode them (looking at MAC guru Rashmi of Indyabeauty).
Unfortunately I haven't included a swatch picture as I really hate to swatch for some reasons but from the looks below I am sure I have depicted the pigmentation of the shadows really well.
Ranging  from mattes to shimmers there are some amazing colors in the palette. I would describe each color to my best possible knowledge and inputs are welcome. They have some really complex formulations that cannot be described in one or two words so pardon me over the length of the description.

I hope I have managed to give you the exact shade descriptions. In case they are wrong or you have a suggestion to let me know.

Some looks that I did with the palette (and many more to be featured hither thither)

This a shimmery mauve, taupe and light greyish lavender look with striking black falsies. Will be doing this look in the upcoming posts. They eyes look dramatic and in moon light they look simply marvellous.

This is a midnight blue smokey eye with a red and plum crease and a winged black liner. The lashes are curled and thick mascara is applied. The colors are applied without a primer and just 2 layers of each color and shot in broad daylight to see how opaque the shadows are. I think they have fared well compared to some expensive counterparts who did an unfair and poor job.

An antique gold and bronze look that is shot in day light. Its just a basic look and one can easily duplicate it.

Shot under a tubelight the same look is more metallic and intensified. The day light makes it demure and wearable while the evening lights amplify the metallic effects. The pigments are rich and the pay off is glamorous.

This is again a say light shot take near the window. Its serene and soft metals that translates different in different lights.

This is from another tutorial that will be published soon. Here I have used the taupe-y bronze multi colored shimmer and lot of thick lashes.

OVERALL

This palette is terribly good (LOL) and is best for travelling, gifting and everything one can think of. The eyeshadows are really amazing and the range covered in the spectrum of colors is wider. Although I would cry for a grey brown matte shadow for the brows to complete the kit, its a personal choice. It takes immense hardwork to design a palette like this when you have more than 20000 eyeshadow combinations to do and choose from.

I recommend this palette to anyone and everyone and it get full points from me. You can buy it here.
Hope you liked the review.

Till then,

Ciao
