Matte Matters!!

Sometimes its fun to use matte colors to brighten up eyes and then keep the rest of the face dewy and glowy. This is the anti-shimmery eyes look which allows a lot of room to work on skin and look amazing and fresh. Also the matte bright purples and pinks I have used are quite subdued and can be carried off in as a day makeup if you work for a stylish salon or something. To keep the eyes look bright and fresh, I would advice to emphasize of lashes and apply a wonderful mascara to open up the eyes.

I have used BH cosmetics 88 eyeshadow palette to achieve this look with the colors marked as a star. have a look at how to do this look after the jumpbreak.......................................................................

The colors marked with a star have been used. I used a matte purple, a matte neon pink, soft taupe brown, soft taupe grey, a peachy-white matte and bone white colored eyeshadows.

Begin with concealing the under eye area with a peachy concealer and also prime the lids.

Fill in the brows with a taupe brown eyeshadow and tame the brows. Domesticate them with a brow gel. I love a bit of stronger brows to add dimensions to the matte look.

Apply a soft wash of peachy white matte eyeshadow on the lids and apply the lighter bony white as a highlight on the brow bone and the inner corners.

Contour the crease with taupey-grey eyeshadow. This color mimics the natural depth of the crease and looks real and not made up.

With an angled brush, apply a matte purple eye liner starting from the middle part of the lid going outwards into a wing. That little flick lifts up the eyes subtly.

Intersect and overlap the middle part of the purple line with a matte neon pink line traced by starting from the inner corners. Keep these lines closer to the lash line so that there is no flesh peeking through.

Deepen the crease a bit. Curl the lashes with an eyeslash curler and apply 3-4 coats of Estee Lauder Double Wear mascara in Black. They nylon fibers in the mascara help add glossiness to the lashes and amplifies the eye makeup. Glossy lashes against a matte eye could be a nice trend for the rains (as it is waterproof mascaras are a bit glossy compared to the washable ones)

To complete the look, apply some taupe grey on the lower lids and smoke it out. This just adds a natural darkness to the lid.

Keep the rest of the face bare and dewy with a slick of blush and lipgloss or just a cheek and lip stain.
