Beautiful Beginnings!

This is an all occasion makeup look which is incredibly flattering and can be pulled off easily. With Rakshabandhan tomorrow I think this could be an inspirational look for all the sisters to don themselves. We do not look for a smokey eye or something glamorous. We aim for a look that is less over powering and looks perfect for this magical moment.

This is a lovely mixtures of gold infused pinks (rose gold) and purples to create a heavenly combination of drama and beauty. Shimmer drenched lids and lips break the ties of subtlety and add a dramatic facet to make the face look youthful and glowing.

Lets see how to do this look..............

I need to just add that I put MAC's NW30 concealer for a trial and it looks like a failing disaster. My under eyes look sulky and sleep deprived and from next posts I will stick to my Clinique All about eyes only.

Conceal the under eye area and prime the lids.

Fill in the brows and comb them into shape. I like a bit arched brow for this look.

Trace the outer halves of the upper and lower lids with Estee Lauder's Double Wear Stay in place eye  pencil in Blackened Plum.

Smudge it with the smudger provided on the back of the pencil. When rubbed the purple glitter from the pencil erupts from its hiding and changes the color altogether. Ironically its not a plum even though the name says so. It has to blended early as the pencil dries within a minute.

Apply a thin layer of L'oreal Infallible eyeshadow in Forever Pink on the upper and lower lids. The eyeshadow is a loosely pressed cocktail of pink and gold pearl with nuances of lilac glitter which makes it very different although the lilac doesn't translate in pictures.

Apply MAC eyeshadow in Marvel (from the Mickey contractor collection) on the outer corners and blend them into the pink eyeshadow.

To create a bridge between the two colors, I added  MAC Dame's Desire on the intersection of the 2 colors and also in the crease. This does add a touch of lilac which I love.

Apply Marvel on the outer corners to add dimension and depth and shape the eye. Then smoke in Dame's Desire in between to create a continuation.

Highlight the brow bone with Girlactik eyeshadow in Satin. This is a champagne beige highlighter which I use all the time and not skip a chance. Also apply a touch of Satin in the inner corners too.

To make the pink prominent, apply MAC Sushi flower eyeshadow in the inner crease.

For dramatic lashes, curl them and add a coat of Lancome Cils Booster primer to fatten them and add volume. Tip : apply mascara within 15-20 seconds of application of primer to avoid pokey looking lashes.

Add several coats of Lancome Precious Cells Volumising Magnetic mascara for amazing length, curl and of course, volume. I am getting addicted back to Lancome mascaras now. To add depth, trace the inner rims of lower lids subtly with Max Factor Liquid effect pencil in Lilac Flame.

This is the finished look. Its easy and very beautiful. I like makeups that enhance and brighten up the eyes. Since the lipstick in a shimmery Amethyst color to match the tones of the eyes, I suggest pulling the look with a soft pink blusher (bright pop of pink applied very lightly) and a bit of warm white gold illuminator if required. You can also keep the lips and eyes subtle with nude pink-brown shades to tone down the drama.
