Fleur De Lotus.......

I dedicate this post to a person who is unfathomably creative, true to his work, amazingly talented, very down to earth, modest, honest and one of the nicest people in the world - ME...LOL. Its not a self praising post although. Its my name NEERAJ - which means 'born in water' and is another name for LOTUS. As it is Chanel's Fleur De Lotus collection is on its way to Indian shores, so this was an apt look to do.

This is a lovely melange of beautiful aquatic colors and creates sensational effects on eyes. Lets see how to achieve this look.....

Conceal the under eyes to brighten up eyes. This is the most important step as the blues can accentuate the dark circles. Please ignore that little brown patch in the white of my eye. It was due to an accident in the chemistry lab when I was college going. Luckily my eye was saved.

Prime the lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer for getting the eyeshadows in the truest color.

Apply a wash of Clarins Single eyeshadow in Vanilla Beige. This neutralizes the lid and makes the other colors pop better.

Apply Lancome Le Kohl in Noir on the outer half of the upper and lower lids in a 'V' shape. This also gives a mini-lift to the eyes.

Blend and soften the edges with a dome shaped blending brush.

Apply MAC eyeshadow in Deep Shade over the black pencil using a flat eyeshadow brush. I love this steely blue shade and will incorporate in some more of my look in future too.

Apply MAC eyeshadow in Mothbrown in the crease and outer corners over the steely-blue shade. This colors adds a bit of depth to the look.

Apply Illamasqua eyeshadow in Burst on the centre of the lid and in the crease hither thither. This is the beginning of applying aqua colors on  the eyes.

Apply MAC pigment in Teal on the centre of the lid. To create an intensity, it can be applied wet too.I applied it with a damp MAC 217 brush.

For a glistening touch of Mother of pearl, apply Bourjois Light eyeshadow 02 in the inner third of the lid and blend into the teal color. Also highlight the inner corners with the same color. It had subtle tones of lilac and blue with a duochrome with white.

Apply Bourjois Light eyeshadow 02 on the inner half of the lower lids. This brightens up the eyes and opens them up. Apply Bourjois Clubbing pencil in Vert insomniac in the inner rims. I would never regret buying this pencil as it looks so beautiful in the inner rims and is a bedazzling mint green with aqua tones.

Curl the lashes and apply several coats of Revlon Customeyes mascara in Blackest black.

To pair with such gorgeous mermaid aqua eyes, I suggest using a soft coral blush and slick on some coral tinted gloss to add a chic shine to the lips.
