Bedazzling eyes - Purple and Antique Gold

This is another experimental post (which means sans tutorial) to actually try out the Maybelline Falsies Lash mascara. I have featured the mascara in previous posts too and will review it soon along with the Hyperglossy liner soon. Quite intriguing products though.

I also had ordered this Flirt cosmetics eyeshadow palette long back from Strawberrynet and took sometime to bloom and realise what a fantabulous product it is. So sharing the pics too. I can understand that this look is not too clean and properly done and not as refined as some of the looks on the blog but please bear with it.

So lets see how to get this look.................

FLIRT COSMETICS HOLIDAY PALETTE

Since Estee Lauder is the parent company, there is a smidgen of a chance that these resemble MAC eyeshadows. They have a lot of fillers but the color payoff is lovely and though this is an old palette, I find it quite inspiring to do subtle holiday looks. Haven't tried the eyeshadows over a primer yet.

First of all I have not used a primer underneath so the colors are not as bold as I want them to be. In person this look is quite smoldering and plummy but on camera is translated as a muted interspersing of purples and antique golds which looks lovely too.

This Winter season, I wanted to do a lot of looks with hazy undefined black liners that just enhance the eye shape and not look very defined. The Maybelline Falsises lash mascara is a killer. With 2-3 coats on my lashes and that too without a lash primer it has done an amazing job. No wonder mavericks like Charlotte Tilbury also swear by it.

For the face, keep it simple and beautiful. Clinique's new BB cream is a great base and they come in 3 shades to cater fair, rosy and medium complexions. I would call it a bang'on the buck, as for 1950 INR you get an amazing oil free BB cream from a high end brand that does wonder. It is currently in the sampling stage but would review that soon too. Finish off with MAC Sheer Loose Powder and conceal with Clinique All About Eyes concealer to hide dark circles. For blush, I used Clinique Smoldering Plum just as a whisper of color on the cheeks and lips could be painted with Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Chocolate Raspberry.

Using concealer as a primer base, apply the antique gold shade on the inner and middle two thirds of the lid. Apply reddened purple on outer third and blend to diffuse the colors. Define the crease subtly with a lovely rich deep brown that has golden sparkle. Looks divine. Trace the upper and lower lash line with Lancome Le Crayon Kohl liner and apply the soft Charcoal shade to create a black smokey haze. Highlight the brow bones and inner corners with Golden Beige shimmer. Curl lashes with Shiseido eye lash curler, tame the brows by filling them with a matte brown from the same Holiday palette and apply 2-3 coats of Maybelline Falsies lash mascara for gorgeous looking peepers.

Hope you liked this easy and breezy soft smokey look. Do comment and let me know. Don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY of the month.

Till then,

Ciao
