The Winter Rose

This is a very soft, cool toned muted eye look for Fall/Winter with emphasis on making the eyes look really soft and beautiful. I named this look winter rose as the cheeks and lips get a rosy tint and compliment the eyes. I have used Pat McGrath's method of applying two tone mascaras and it really looks different when looked closely.

I have used the Flirt cosmetics Holiday eyeshadow palette which I bought from Strawberrynet.com to do this look. It has all colors to depict the Winter season and I love them as they look so incredibly soft and muted. Its not necessary to always have superbly pigmented eyeshadows. Sometimes a bit of powdery effect helps create soft muted eyes.

So lets see how to the Winter Rose makeup look...........

Also this picture from a resource is my inspiration for the Winter Rose makeup loo.

Conceal the under eye area to get rid of under eye circles and shadows. My inner eyes are very dark due to lack of sleep and work I have been a bit tired since sometime.

Apply concealer on the eye lids to correct any unevenness. You can see how dry my eyes look. After the makeup removal I literally massaged Kailas Jeevan in my eye area to get some relief.
Also tame the brows and fill in with a matte color of your choice. I used a dark matte brown from the same palette.

Highlight the brow bone with an Ivory shimmer. This is more of a pink toned white than Ivory I guess. Use a large paddled brush to create a wash of color.

Use a medium grey based brown to apply on the outer corners and create a softer definition.

Apply a rosy toned lavender with silver sparkles on the entire lid as a wash of color. Since I am warm toned this color can pop on the lids due to clash of undertones. If not washed or used subtly it could look cheap.

Use the medium grey brown to define the crease literally upto the inner crease.

Smoke out a taupe-y brown on the lower lids to create softness and shadows. Also apply a blue based white shimmer in the inner corners.

Trace and smudge the lash lines with NYX Long Pencil in Chocolate and also apply in the inner rims to frame the eyes. The darker is your skin color, the darker should be the defining liner.

Contour the crease even more to add definition yet keep it softer so that it does not look like cut-crease.

Curl the lashes with Shiseido Eye lash curler. Apply MAC cosmetics Zoom Fast Black Lash mascara on the upper lashes and fan them out. Apply Max Factor 24 HR False Lash Effect mascara on the lower lashes to create a softer edge and more of a two toned effect.

This is a detailed explanation of what I did in a diagrammatic pattern. Hope you find this new thing interesting.
Combine with an amazing cream blush to look naturally flushed and stain the lips in a mixture of a lovely berry and pink toned brown.
