In the lap of luxury makeup..

In a famous movie was a dialogue, 'Jawani jaa ke aati nahin, buddhapa aake jaata nahin' translated as 'Youth goes to never return and old age arrives to never go back'. So true was the philosophy and the idea of the actor. And while thinking about the smallest things like 'makeup' it really holds true especially when it comes to using luxury makeup. This is a simple makeup story of a woman who loves to be in the lap of luxury.

Anyways, this post does not deal with any philosophy as such. This is an article in which I am doing makeup to a hypothetical beautiful lady (who has never used luxury brands like Chanel, Dior, Lancome etc.) and using all the products that I have (some of them I own) to help her take a plunge into the lap of luxury makeup.

FACE
  • Begin with  prepping the skin with Sisley Sisleya Radiance anti-ageing concentrate (INR 30,000 approx.) and follow with Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Day cream (INR 23,000 approx) to get a lovely radiant skin.
  • Prep the eye area with La Prairie's Platinum RARE under eye cream (INR 20,000) and keep it hydrated and bedazzling.
  • Its important to use a primer and to boost up the radiance use Guerlain's Meteorites Primer (INR 3500 approx.) for the foundation and the base to stay perfect.
  • Begin with a foundation that suits the skin color, skin tone and adds radiance to the face. I began with YSL Touche Eclat foundation (INR 3200) applying it with Chanel foundation brush (INR 2450). Begin from the centre of the face and blend the foundation sideways almost diffusing it into the skin by the time it reaches the circumference. This ensure a flawless finish and the foundation is very radiant and complexion enhancing.
  • Apply Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in place concealer (INR 1600) in the under eye using Estee Lauder Concealer brush (INR 1750) and wherever required and finish with a light dusting of Estee Lauder Renutriv Compact (INR 4500 approx) to seal all the radiance which we did and all this a fluffy Shiseido Powder brush (INR 3800)
CHEEKS
  • Contour the face and give it a bit of dimension with Dior Diorskin Nude Tan Healthy Glow Enhancing Powder. Apply it under the cheek bones, under jaw line, sides of the temples etc with a fluffy Giorgio Armani blush brush (on www.strawberrynet.com) that is a fluffy enough but also paddled for perfect product placement.
  • For a soft rosy effect apply Chanel Joues Contraste blush in Tumulte (INR 2450) on the apples of the cheeks with a sleek Shiseido blush brush (INR 2800) and highlight subtly with limited edition Estee Lauder Powder Gelee Highlighter in Modern Mercury (INR 2172) with the same brush.
EYES
  • Begin with priming the lids using Estee Lauder Double Wear eyeshadow primer (INR 1750) for all the colors to stay put and look brighter.
  • Line the eyes with Sisley Phyto kohl (INR 3000 aprox) to create darkness at the lash line.
  • Use Christian Dior 5 Color eyeshadow quad in Mystic Smokys palette (INR 3600). Use the smokey grey color from the palette and apply on the lash line and smoke it out. This gives a subtle and beautiful dimension enhancing the eye shape. This is done using Chanel Dome shaped eyeshadow brush small (INR 2450).
  • Then apply a wash of soft silvery white shimmer all across the lid diffusing the color upto the brow bone using fluffy Christian Dior Large eyeshadow brush (INR 2500).
  • Then softly contour the eye crease with Chanel Ombre Essentielle Soft touch eyeshadow in Vert Khaki (INR 1900) to get a very soft and subtle definition in the crease with Estee Lauder Eyeshadow brush no.25 (INR 2450)
  • Curl the lashes with Shiseido Eye lash curler (INR 1000) and finish with several coats of the luxurious Guerlain Noir G mascara (INR 3300) to get the most fluttery lashes.
  • Tame and comb the brows with Chanel Sourcils Eye brow palette (INR 2600 approx)
LIPS
  • Drench the lips in moisture and satiny shine with a mixture of Chanel's Rouge Coco lipstick in Ruban Rose and Culte (INR 2150 each)

This is a just a lady gone berserk and a total luxury makeup fanatic. Many of them are as I know of and I hope this post inspires many more of them.

Till then,

Ciao
