Review : Guerlain Ombre 4 Eclat eyeshadow quad in Bronze Dore

Reviewing the Guerlain Ombre 4 Eclat Eyeshadow Quad in Bronze Dore. This is a small review with the look that is done using the all colors from the quad. This may be one of the most amazing eyeshadows I have every got thanks to the rich texture, luxurious finish and the best olive green color I have ever seen.

Doesn't the quad look precious? Encased in a plush looking golden case, this quad eyeshadows has colors that are very versatile and can be mixed with other shadows to create some lovely looks for the Holiday season. Lets have a look.................

Guerlain is a makeup brand that knows the importance and value for our money. Thence at a whopping 7.2 gm quad for 3275 INR you get the most amazing finish and its a great delight working with quads like this. This does have certain very unique undupeable colors (at least I did not find a dupe). The packaging is worth adorning the table of a Queen and the colors are phenomenal.

What I liked about the versatility of this quad is that it can be used to create a plethora of looks and is good for transition from day to evening makeups with the unique olive green eyeshadow in the quad. However the name 'Bronze Dore' which means Bronze and Gold is not completely applicable as there isn't any bronze per se. The texture of the eyeshadows is finely milled and extremely silky and smooth. The colors are true to what they look in the pan and are quite long staying even without a primer. However I suggest using a primer to bring out the best from the color pay off that you can get.

SHADES
  • Superior Left - Coppery gold shimmer flecks with a horrendous ability to create fall outs. I love to pat this shade over on of the other shades from the quad.
  • Superior Right - A creamy satin finish ecru shade that creates a phenomenal highlight. It has tones of white and beige which makes an ideal neutral toned brow bone highlighter.
  • Inferior Left - A duo chrome satin finish apple green. This color is a mid tone shade and can be used in a variety of ways. When layered over other colors its does tend to be a bit on the bluer side otherwise is quite an opaque cool jade green. Love this color and really don't have a dupe for this.
  • Inferior Right - A lovely olive toned green. This does have a warm metallic bronzy finish and is super bright and shimmery. The little gold flecks add a 3 D effect to this eyeshadow. It can be used as a crease color or to create out of the world smokey eyes.

To achieve this look,

Prime the lids with Urban Decay Primer potion. Line the entire perimeter of the eye with Bourjois 16 hr Kohl and contour pencil in Ultra Black. Highlight the brow bone with the satin Ecru shade. On the outer corners, lash line and in the crease apply  the bronzy olive green shimmery eyeshadow and smoke it out. With fingers dab the coppery gold sparkle on the entire lid. Highlight inner corners with apply green eyeshadow. Curl lashes and apply 2 coats of Clinique High Impact Extreme mascara.

For the blush, I opted for Guerlain Blush 4 Eclats in Soleil Couchant and on lips I suggest using a fiery red lipstick like Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick in Insolence De Rouge or Rouge G Jewel Lipstick in Geisha. The other most amazing red is MAC Ruby woo or Clinique's Party Red. For a demure effect opt for sheer beige or bronze toned glosses.

Hope you liked this mini review and the quad of course. Do let me know in the comments.

Till then,

Ciao

    1. Thanks a lot Bhumika. In fact the natural light pics come horrendous and so not clear. Flash makes the pictures crisp n clear. U shud go with a heavier hand on makeup and blend well. I use Canon Ixus 220 HS and have my own settings and not 'auto". Hope this works for u. Do let me know if u have any queries.
