The Demure New Year Eve LOOK!!

When certain brights need guts to sport, its better to go a bit demure for the New Year's Eve. This is a look that all can sport and would hardly go wrong at any time.

There has to be some caution while using purple and gold colors. They are contrasting and may look neutral brown if blended too much. What have I done is, I have used a blend of shimmery and matte colors in a transition to avoid this effect.

The eyes are super reflective and they look even more sparkling during the NYE party. So lets see how to do this look.........

Conceal the under eyes. Its important while using purple eyeshadow as they can accentuate the dark circles even more. Curl the lashes with MAC eye lash curler and comb through the brows and tame them.

Prime the lids for the eyeshadows to stay put better and longer. I have used Urban Decay Primer Potion for a heavy duty effect.

Apply MAC Paint pot in Groundwork on the entire lid and diffuse it into the crease. This helps hold the shimmer eyeshadows better.

Trace the upper lash line with Bourjois Khol and Contour 16 hr in Ultra Black and soften the line into a smokey hue at the periphery. I have used Sigma Pencil brush to get less precise lines.

Highlight the brow bone and inner corners with Urban Decay shadow in Vanilla.

Apply Urban Decay Half Baked eyeshadow on the entire lid, sparing the outer thirds. Pat with fingers for high shine effect.

Apply Too Faced First Dance eyeshadow on the lash line and create a outer 'v' and fill in the triangle create. Then smudge and soften the edges.

Soften and create a transition effect using Urban Decay Half Truth eyeshadow on the outer thirds and slightly blend with the gold. Also blend and soften the eyeshadow upwards and outwards to enhance the eye shape.

With a mauve-y taupe eyeshadow like Urban Decay Tease, blend and smoothen the crease blending it upwards towards the brow bone.

With an angled liner brush, apply Urban Decay Blackout as a liner to create softer effects.

On the lower lids smoke the eyeshadow colors and blend as shown in the image. Trace and color the inner rims with Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in place Eye pencil in Black Plum.

Curl lashes again and apply 2-3 coats of Clinique High Impact Extreme mascara in Extreme black for fluttery peepers.

To super amplify this look, you can also use Gold Reflects from MAC to create sparkly firework like effect.
Pair with a soft radiant pink blush and drench the lips with a berry colored shiny lipgloss.
