The Holographic Eye - Christmas Eve Makeup

This is a super bright glowing holographic eye makeup I created exclusively for Christmas and New Year's Eve. This is one of the most amazing makeups I have ever done on Beauty Traveller and I am sure you will agree with me on this.

This look is inspired by Holograms put by companies on their products as a mark of genuine product. There is an amazing way in which the light reflects and transitions through a hologram and this makes the look even more beautiful. The contrasting dark lashes against this uber glowing eye looks breathtakingly gorgeous and I hope you agree with me on this.

SO lets see how to do this look..........

Conceal the under eye circles and create a flawless base. Please bear in mind, that while I was shooting this tutorial i was very unwell and my eyes really look sunken.

Prime the lids with an eyeshadow primer to make the eyeshadow looks truer and stay put.

Create a subtle contour in the crease with Illamasqua eyeshadow in Vernau. This is just to find the really crease and exaggerate it so that the eyes look bigger and brighter.

Darken the corners of eyes and inner thirds of upper and lower lids along with the crease with MAC eyeshadow in Thunder. This is to make the highlighting eyeshadows pop up better with the support of low lights.

Darken the MAC Thunder a bit more so that it creates a lovely stencil for the upcoming eyeshadow. Also I have gone really high on crease as I want the eyes to look really big.

Blend the eyeshadow into just a smokey haze. Also highlight the brow bone with MAC Daisy Chain eyeshadow.

With a flat Clarins eyeshadow brush, pat on MAC eyeshadow in Sweet N Punchy eyeshadow on the entire lid sparing the inner and outer corners. Pat it with fingers for the shimmer to look even more brighter and better.

Apply Urban Decay Omen eyeshadow on the entire purple stencil that was created. This amplifies this eyeshadow and it looks so holographic and magical.

You can appreciate how the color looks on inner and outer corners. The low lights make the highlights pop up even better than on a bare lid.

Highlight the inner corners with an oyster shimmer like Urban Decay Midnight 15 eyeshadow. Use a small dome shaped brush for that magical touch.

Apply Urban Decay eyeshadow in Deep End over the lower lids and smoke it out to create a lovely haze.

Apply Max Factor eye pencil in Lilac Flame in the inner rims of the lower lids and then pat a mixture of Omen + Deep End to give it another magical touch. Shimmers and duo chrome shadows can do wonders to brighten up the complexion.

Comb and tame the brows. Curl lashes with MAC eye lash curler and apply a single coat of Lancome Cils Booster mascara primer. This helps the lashes look voluminous.

Finish with 2 coats of Maybelline Volume Express Falsies lashes washable mascara on the top and bottom lashes.

For even more glamorous effect, line the upper lash line thinly with Maybelline Hyperglossy liner in Jet Black and stick on Uroparis no.54 false lashes.

Color the vein of the false lashes with the liquid eye liner so that they do not look conspicuous.

And here it is, the holographic eye for Christmas. Enhance the complexion with a soft glow from Guerlain Meteorites Pressed Powder in Nacre Des Mers and then apply a lovely MAC Pro Longwear blush in Whole Lotta love for pinched pink cheeks. To plump up the lips apply a whisper of pink lipstick and slick on some gorgeous gloss to make the overall effect a bit magical. You can also dust some pixie dust on the face and look overtly glittery like a Christmas ornament. So go ahead and kick some of those classic holiday looks and enlighten yourself with this amazing holographic makeup look.

  5. Doc, when I saw the third pic, I was like, he has such nice eyes! And then I saw your note about you being unwell and thus having sunken eyes. If this is how your sick eyes look, they must really be gorgeous!
