Moscow Ball Room Inspired - The Russian Diva

I really apologize for not being to update my blog with good posts that are literally rattling on my computer to get into the world wide web. This is a Russian Ballroom themed makeup that I shall be doing for a while (2 more posts) and then begin with the Emerald Mojo for beginning of February. Also I have got an opportunity to write a guest post for MySkin.com which is such a honor.

This look is partly inspired by the czarinas and partly by one of the looks done by Misschevious on Youtube. The idea is to create a triangular and quite pointy smokey eye without being too sharp at the same time. I am sure you'll understand the complexity of this smokey eye after you see the tutorial. So lets have a looksie.........

Begin with concealing the under eyes with a lovely creamy concealer. Also hydrate the under eye area with an under eye cream for the concealer to glide better. Also refrain from over powdering as that makes the under eye area dry and makeup looks a bit duller. Also groom the eye brows for getting a better canvas.

Conceal any discolorations on the lids and apply an eyeshadow primer for the colors to stay put and look gorgeous.

Apply Urban Decay Freestyle eyeshadow from the lash line to brow. This makes the eye looks soft and matte and acts as a very good base since the powder is so finely milled and beautiful.

Start by tracing the upper and lower lash lines with Bourjois 16 Hr Kohl and Contour Ultra black eye pencil. Start from a little distance away from the inner corners of your eyes to get a wide eyed look.

With a pencil brush smooth the lines to remove any harsh lines. Blend the lines to create a lovely stencil for the eyes and also soften the pencil. This helps creating a good base for other eyeshadows to sit.

Over the eye liner smudge Urban Decay eyeshadow in Black out. Apply some black eyeshadow on .the outer corners and blend it in the crease to define.

Apply Urban Decay eyeshadow in Rockstar in the higher crease and also on the outer corners over the Blackout eyeshadow to create gradation in the depth of the color and add an oomph of course.

Highlight the inner corners and the brow bone with Guerlain Ombre Eclat 4 eyeshadow in Rose Boise. I used the bubblegum pink shimmer from the quad.

Apply the beige taupe shade satin shine shade from the Guerlain quad on the centre of the eye without disturbing any darkness of the black.

Trace the inner rims of the lower lids with the same black eye pencil. To deepen the eye liner, apply a thin line of Maybelline Hyperglossy liner closest to the lash line and smudge softly to retain the darkness while removing the glossy effect.

Curl the lashes and apply 2-3 coats of Guerlain Le 2 De Guerlain Lacque mascara in Noir.

This is a beautifully shaped smokey eye. So its better to keep the skin dewy and glowing and its best to use a creamy blush (preferably cream to powder) instead of a powder blush and also a rose bud colored lipstick.
