Wearable Winter Chic..

As an inspiration to this amazing wintry nights and the parties that happen around, I wanted to create a simple sultry and glowing taupe eyes. To match the nude fleshy toned shimmers or in fact contrast them and to add a playful touch, I opted for a midnight teal eye liner instead of the conventional black and believe me, the effect was hypnotic.

When a line is used in such looks, they can get a bit vampy. Sans liner, this makeup looks angelic and divine with a slightly boudoir edge to it. So lets see how to get this wearable winter chic look.......

This is the silliest camera angle ever, but in this picture you can appreciate the subtle contouring done on the eyes.......I am a bit sorted about the fact that my inexpensive camera really ends up taking a lot of HD pictures which look so true and amazing. Something a lot of people with highly expensive DSLRs cannot do.

Conceal the under eyes to hide dark circles. Since my under eyes felt dry, I used the concealer over eye cream and applied a very very light dusting of powder.

Prime the lids. Comb and tame the brows. I literally filled them with Urban Decay Black out eyeshadow to get stark effect. But used feathered strokes so that the brow looks black but not in your face Scrouse brows.

Highlight the brow bone with Urban Decay eyeshadow in Flow (from the 15th anniversary palette).

Trace and deepen the crease softly with a mauve based taupe eyeshadow called UD Tease (Naked 2).

On the outer corners apply UD Deeper eyeshadow. Apply in a diffused manner so that it looks intensely smokey.

On the centre of the lid apply UD Midnight 15 eyeshadow. Its ultra reflective and very chic looking.

On the lower rims apply UD eyeshadows in MIA, Chopper and apply Flow in the inner corners.

Apply Bourjois 16 hr Kohl and contour pencil in Bleu Vituose in the inner rims of lower lids.

Curl lashes with MAC eye lash curler and apply 3-4 coats of Clinique High Impact Extreme Mascara in Extreme Black for fluttery lashes.

I found monochromatics to work best for these type of looks. So the cheeks have a healthy dewy glow over a nice contouring shade and the lips are drenched in a brown beige glossy color.

  • Christian Dior Forever Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear foundation SPF 25
  • Clinique All About Eye concealer
  • Guerlain Les Violettes Loose Powder
  • Guerlain Soleil Illuminating Powder (contouring)
  • Guerlain Meteorites Cruel Gardenia highlighter
  • Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick in Flushy Beige
  • Too Faced Shadow Insurance eyeshadow primer
  • Urban Decay eyeshadows - Flow, Deeper, Black Out, Midnight 15, Chopper, Tease
  • Bourjois Khol and Contour in Bleu Virtuose
  • MAC eye lash curler
  • Clinique High Impact Extreme mascara in Extreme Black
Hope you liked this monochromatic winter chic look.
