Russian Ballroom Inspired - Glam Purple

I have used the fabulous Guerlain Ombre 4 Eclats in Velours D'Or for this Russian Ballroom inspired theme and since the Giveaway comes to an end soon, I thought this is a good time to post this lovely tutorial for the winner to get a bit more inspired.

I loved the darkness of this quad as purples and plums appeal to me the most. Plus it has two colors that cannot be easily duped and the black eyeshadow is gorgeous. Guerlain also has a range called Abelle Royale in their skin care line and this could be inspired from that range too. So lets see how to achieve this simple yet amazing look.....

Begin with concealing the under eye area with a good hydrating concealer like Clinique's All About Eyes concealer.

Prime so that eyeshadows stay put and last long. I have used Urban Decay Primer Potion for its sticky quality.

On the outer two thirds of the lash line apply Lancome Le Kohl Waterproof Eye pencil in Raisin Noir. Wing it out slightly so that it enhances the shape of the eye.

Smudge with the smudger provided on the back of the pencil. Be super quick so that the pencil has a play time in which one can blend it before it settles and sets.

Guerlain Ombre 4 Eclats eyeshadow quad in Velours D'Or

From the Guerlain Ombre 4 Eclats quad in Velours D'Or, apply the copper gold sparkle on the entire lid diffusing it very subtly in the brow bone.

In the outer corner and the crease, with a dome shaped crease brush, apply the charcoal mauve duochrome from the same quad. What a fantastic color that is......

Apply the plummy purple shade from the quad on the outer corners and blended into the crease. Then with an angled brush apply the satin black eyeshadow as a liner. Trace over the pencil to get the perfect wing that you always wanted.

Smoke out the lower lid with the charcoal mauve eyeshadow from the quad. On the outer corners blend with the plummy purple. To open up the eyes, highlight the inner corners with the sparkly gold.

In the inner rims apply Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in place eye pencil in Black Plum. This is the most amazing eye pencil color ever. Curl lashes with Shiseido Eye lash curler and apply 2-3 coats of Guerlain Le 2 De Guerlain mascara in Noir.

This is the final output. To add softness and dimension to the face, use a pink gold highlighter and a lovely soft pink blush to keep in the tone of the cooler eyeshadows. Slick on a lovely glossy lipstick and you are ready for the Russian Ballroom theme.
