The Party Doll !!

The party is always ON whatever the time of the year it is.....and party makeup ideas never end. I am favoring a lot of looks these days which are smoldering smokeys all around with a hope of shimmer on the middle of the lid and you shall see a lot of such looks being put on the blog recently.

This is a twist over the YSL's Le Smokey eyes and only YSL eyeshadow palette would have done justice to this look thence its being used. I loved the Pure Chromatics eyeshadows that they launched recently and the pay off is gorgeous. Did you know that these eyeshadows were poured directly into the palette due to its slurry like texture and then pressed? No wonder they can be used wet or dry and really you cannot tell whether its a powder or a cream eyeshadow. I call them dried cream shadows..LOL

Anyways lets see how to do this Party Doll look..............

I used the YSL Pure Chromatics eyeshadow palette in no.19 to do this look. I hope they had names but after seeing the complexity of the colors and shade placements it may be difficult for Lloyd Simmonds to coin the names.

Conceal under eyes really well so that the dark colors do not accentuate the under eye problems.

Prime the lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance eyeshadow primer so that the darker colors look darker and shimmers look smoldering.

Tame and shape the eye brows to bring it all in place. Highlight the brow bone with MAC eyeshadow in Shore Leave.

With Bourjois 16 Hr Khol and Contour pencil in Ultra black, trace thick lines across the lash lines and inner rims of upper and lower lids.

Thicker the line, easier it is to smudge and smoke out. This acts as a base and the effect is stunning with a dark core and hazy surroundings. I like the smokey eyes intense and this trick and the pencil helps me achieve them easily.

Spread the eye pencil over the entire lid to create a black base for the eyeshadows and also smudge the lower lids to create a sooty smokey eye. You can even stop here and put some mascara on and be done. But we shall continue.

Apply the sparkly taupe grey eyeshadow from the YSL palette in the crease.

Apply the deep dark brown shimmer from the palette on the outer corners, crease and also the inner corners to get the most deep and intense brown smokey eyes ever.

Soften the black on the lower lash line with the same dark brown eyeshadow to create a transition.

On the middle of the lid apply sparkly pink shimmer for that extra fun and shine for the smokey eyes.

Apply the same shimmery pink on the middle of the lower lid to create a mirror reflection of the eye makeup. Apply a sparkly white eyeshadow from the quad in the inner corners to create dewy effects.

Trace the inner rims with the dark eye pencil again. Curl the lashes really well and apply 3-4 coats of Guerlain Noir G Exceptional Complete Mascara in Noir.

To keep this look soft and alluring, apply a hint of pink blush on cheeks and drench the lips with a rosy pink shine. This is such a glamorous look enough to bedazzle an evening occasion.
