Magical Purple

Since childhood, I have read a lot of books on fairies and pixies and a lot of supernatural beings through books of Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl and not to forget the beautiful Harry Potter series. And since then I have always believed in 'magic'. Magic happens when we least expect it and it does a lot of difference in our lives.

Inspired from the 'pixie dust' of Tinkerbell in Peter Pan, I have tried to create this midnight pixie look for this post. Before we start, I must apologize for the crooked eye liner on the top lid which I request all to overlook and see the magic unfolding as the tutorial proceeds..

I have used the lovely Violet Underground quint of Estee Lauder to do this beautiful look...Lets see how...

Except for the chocolate brown, I have used all the colors from this palette.

Begin with concealing the under eye area with your favorite concealer and then powdering it to perfection.

Prime the lids for the eyeshadows to stay put and not budge.

Line the lower lash line and inner rims with Estee Lauder Double Wear stay in place eye pencil in Black Plum.

Trace the upper lash line and draw a thick line tapering from inside outwards with Chambor Dazzle Liner in Dazzle purple. Smudge it so that the glitter from the liner resurfaces.

Draw and darken the crease with 'black' from the palette. Try keeping it as smokey as possible. Also apply some on the outer corners to create the famous outer 'V'.

Fill in the entire lid upto the crease with a metallic plum purple eyeshadow. And ignore the fall outs.

Add a bit of magenta in the inner crease. Then highlight with the beige shimmer to open up the eyes and add magic.

For the lower lid, apply the eyeshadows as shown in the picture.

Curl lashes and apply a lot of Guerlain Noir G mascara. Line the eyes thinly with Maybelline Hyperglossy liner and press glitter n the lower lashes. I have used MAC Reflects Teal and Blue and applied them on the lower lashes. The fall outs are a bonus point.

Finish the look with a soft bright pink blush and of course pink lips whether gloss or lipstick to maintain the coolness of the look.

  • Guerlain Parure Extreme Luminous foundation
  • Clinique All About Eyes concealer
  • Clinique Blended Face Powder
  • Chanel Tweed Blush in Tweed Fuchsia
  • Estee Lauder Illuminating Powder gelee in Modern Merury
  • Guerlain Rouge G lipstick in Gigi
  • Guerlain Terracotta Lipgloss in Salsa
  • Too Faced Shadow insurance eyeshadow primer
  • Estee Lauder Pure color eyeshadow quint in Violet Underground
