This is the look I have seen at not only Anna Sui's Fall 2012 collection but also done the lovely MAC Manager Brazilia at the Juhu MAC store. I was so smitten by the way she had applied the liner, that I decided I got to do this and I am sure you'll love it.
I will also do a look of a similar type in green keeping the Pantone Color of the Season in mind.
I also loved this silly yet dramatic variant and until I was too sure of where I saw this, the reference did come from one of the John Galliano shows and I had really loved the effect all thanks to the makeup magician Pat McGrath.......
Anyways lets see how to this look...........
Begin with concealing the lids with a good industrial strength concealer.
Prime the lids nicely with a clear eyeshadow primer. I switch between Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Urban Decay primer potion all the time. Found a lovely site called www.beautybay.com all thanks to Eesha and you would find all the best of the brands that you craved for, over there.
Apply Urban Decay eyeshadow in Laced on the entire upper and lower lids. This is a nude with a bit of grey and a mauve tone and looks quite different than most of the mattes I have seen.
UD eyeshadow in Anonymous is one of the brightest matte off white I have ever seen. It gives a subtle highlight when used on the brow bone and instantly lifts the inner corners and brightens up the eyes.
To add modernity to the look, I sought help of the Oriflame Kohl liner in Nude which has this lovely peach flesh undertone. This really opens up and brightens the eyes.
Make a thick cat eye liner with Bourjois's Clubbing liner in Bleu Neon. This is not only waterproof but one of the brightest cobalt blue liners ever. And it has a metallic touch to it.
To enhance the shape of the eye, I opted for apply a teeny bit of the blue pencil on the outermost part of the lower lids just to add dimension.
Run an UD eyeshadow in Chaos on the entire blue stencil that we have drawn. This helps in making the blue pop even more and also helps secure the liner as another layer albeit the liner being waterproof.
Curl the lashes with an eye lash curler and apply several coats of Guerlain Noir G mascara to finish of the look.
Like an icing over the cake, which is done when the cake is cooled, I applied MAC reflects in 3-D Gold with Illamasqua's Sealing Gel to create the most amazing liner ever. This is done by dipping a fine point eye liner brush into the sealing gel and then dipping in the glitter and drawing slowly and gradually.
Finish of the look with a soft highlighting cream blush and a shiny slick of gloss on the lips. If you want to opt for a lipstick a pop of coral or pink would really add dimensions and brighten up the face.
