Instagram Tut - Look of the Day

Today's look for Prerna was inspired by a classic Indian beauty which went so amazing well with her Anita Dongre Light Lemon Yellow kurta dress (I am not very acquainted with the Indian fashion jargon). I have also done a detailed look of the post and have taken pictures from my Canon camera to show the look.

Since this is Instagram themed, I would be putting this picture as the head on the article and others shall follow subsequently. This time I am also writing step by step application of eye makeup.....So lets go to the look..........

These are some of the products we used. There was no time to click pics and I couldn't find all the prodcuts in the pandemonium....

The products listed are as follows (starting from left to right) -
  • MAC Individual lashes
  • Hourglass Ambient Light Finishing Powder
  • Real Techniques Brushes
  • Givenchy Croisiere bronzer shade no.02
  • YSL Dare To Glow in Gold
  • NARS Multiple in Copacabana
  • Me Me Me High Beam highlighter (they seem to have copied Benefit)
  • Tarte Aqualilies Smooth Operator Trade Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder
  • YSL Pure Chromatics Eyeshadow palette no.06
  • Illamasqua Gleam Cream in Aurora
  • Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette
  • Clinique Brush on cream liner in True Black
  • Tom Ford Eye pencil in Onyx
  • Sisley So Intense Mascara
  • Tarte Maracuja Creaseless concealer
  • Guerlain Shell Bronzing Powder
  • Dior Addict Lipgloss in Paradise
  • Lancome highlighter in Moonlit Rose
  • Givenchy Mono eyeshadow in Fancy Coffee (for BrowS)
  • Smashbox Photo op eye Brightener
  • Givenchy Eclatissime Foundation

FACE

Moisturize with a gentle stress relieving moisturizer like Kiehl's Skin Rescuer Moisturizer and Prime with Benefits Stay Flawless Primer. Then mix in Givenchy Eclatissime foundation with an equal amount of Bobbi Brown BB cream in Nude to get the perfect shade and perfect mix. Apply in thin layers till the required flawlessness is achieved. I mixed the foundation with a bit of YSL Dare to Glow in Gold and a tiny bit of  NARS Multiple in Copacabana for a luminescent finish.

Prep the under eye area with Smashbox Photo-op under eye brightener to take care of tired eyes. Layer on Diorsculpt concealer in no.03 with Benefit Fake Up concealer with Tarte Maracuja Creaseless concealer. I have blended them in the thinnest layers so that all looks natural and very well blended.

Before applying the finishing powder, I quickly applied some Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Calypso Coral. Then with a fluffy brush apply Hourglass Ambient Lights Finishing Powder for an ethereal glow. I applied it on the T zone, forehead, under cheek bones and neck. Keeping the cheek area powder free has some amazing benefits.

For the contouring, I mixed the Givenchy Croisiere bronzer with my personal Guerlain Shell bronzer to shade the shadowy areas of the face so that the light is bounced better on the other areas. Then I highlighted with Illamasqua Gleam Cream in Aurora and fixed it with Lancome Moonlit Rose Highlighter. For a coral flush I dusted some Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful.

LIPS

Prep the lips with Bite Beauty Cinnamon Lip Oil. Then with a brush apply Bobbi Brown lip color in Salmon. For a long lasting benefit powder the lips with Tarte Aqualilies finishing powder. Then add a dash of Dior Paradise gloss in the centre of the lip to add accents.

EYES

Prime the eyes with a cream eyeshadow like Maybelline 24 Hr Color Tattoo eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze. I began with the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary eyeshadow palette. Frame the eyes with Blackout eyeshadow on the outer corners of the upper lids. Smoke it out on the lower lids. Apply MIA eyeshadow in the entire crease and blend towards the brow bone. Highlight with Vanilla eyeshadow. On the centre of the lids apply a wash of Deeper eyeshadow and blend all the color. On the exact centre of the lid, add a touch of Midnight Cowboy eyeshadow to get a 3D mirrored effect. In the inner corners apply the gold eyeshadow from YSL Pure Chromatics eyeshadow no.06. I used it wet for an added intesity.

Define the eyes with Tom Ford eye pencil in Onyx and smudge it with pencil brush. Line the inner rims with intense black gel liner like Clinique Brush on Cream liner in True Black. To create a shiny effect I thinly traced Loreal Super liner Carbon gloss on the upper lash line.

Finish off with 2-3 coats of Sisley So intense mascara on the upper and lower lashes. I also applied a couple of individual lashes on both the upper lids to add some extra dimension. (optional). For the brows, color with Givenchy mono eyeshadow in Fancy coffee and set them with The Body Shop Brow Gel.

To finish the look, spray a mist of L'Occitane Angelika Face Mist and voila.....ready to go. A small mango colored bindi added a lovely charm to the face.

Hope you liked the look. I shall strive hard to do a proper look or else heavily rely on Instagram for the look of the day. Do let me know your lovely thoughts in the comments.

Till then,

Ciao
