School/Office Makeup - Quick 3 mins

This is a simple matte smokey eye which is perfect for school/office and is apt for places to dress down. This is almost inspired from the makes of Bobbi Brown who suggests to go very natural on eyes and natural on lips during the day or as per the requirement and then slick on a bold color for the evenings.

Fortunately this look is not a flat matte. You can notice a satiny quality to these eyeshadows and they do not look chalky at all. These are Stila Luxe eyeshadows (the upper three) and trust me they look amazing. When it comes to a matte (satiny) eye makeup one thing must be kept in the mind that this makeup may not be for everyone. Sometimes a subtle hint of shimmer (not a frost) does take you through without too many eyes turning. For this look I have decided to opt for a rosy glowing complexion.

Anyways, lets see how easy and quick this look is....

Begin with application of a light weight medium coverage long lasting foundation like Christian Dior Flawless perfection Fusion wear foundation. Conceal with Clinique All About Eyes concealer and set it all with Guerlain Les Violettes Loose Powder for a flawless finish.

Conceal the under eye area. No makeup looks good without a good and flawless base. Its all about the light bouncing on other areas of the face to prevent any flatness or mannequin like effect.

Prime the lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion. Groom the brows in place by filling them with UD Backdoor and then setting them with a MAC Brow Gel.

On the entire lid apply Stila Bubble Bath eyeshadow from the Luxe Eyeshadow Palette. On the outer corners apply Stila Bonbon to accentuate the eye shape and add definition.

Smoke Bonbon subtly on the lower lids. Highlight the inner corners and brow bone with Urban Decay eyeshadow in Anonymous from the Vice Palette.

Accentuate the crease with Stila eyeshadow in Silk to enhance the eye shape even further.

Apply a thin line of Maybelline Eye Studio Gel liner and smudge it to create a hazy smokey liner.

Curl lashes and apply 2-3 coats of Lancome Hypnose Dolls Eye Mascara to create gorgeous doll like lashes.

On the apples of cheeks apply a lovely cream to powder blush like Chanel Le Creme De Blush in Affinite and top it with a subtle highlighter like Guerlain Parure De Nuit. For rose bud lips, apply Shiseido Perfect Rouge in RD346 and slick on some Guerlain Maxi Shine gloss in  Pink Clip to create a moist luminous shine.

Always tone down the flatness of a smokey eye with a glossy lip and illuminated complexion and voila! you're ready. Hope you liked this article. Let me know in the comments.

Till then,

Ciao

    1. Hi. You should black liner only but as a very thin line. Make it taper towards outward and draw a flick.
