The ViCe Difference

Finally I got my hands on the overtly famous and evil (in a good way) Urban Decay Vice 2 Holiday Palette. Grab yours (if you want) soon HERE.....

Now before writing the main review for the shadows and colors and all, I wanted to make a quirky post on row and column wise placement of colors in the Vice and Vice 2 palettes. Its absolutely silly to do so but its fun to read too.....Lets have a look.........

GIVEAWAY Glimpse.............

Its been quite a while that I've done a Giveaway. The last one was a lovely Guerlain Velours D'Or eyeshadow and so happy that Rashmi won. She won not only because of the draw from Rafflecopter but also because she fulfilled all the parameters of the Giveaway. Its like taking part in the Giveaway but not completing anything which leads to disqualification of so many entrants. I really appreciate everyone for each and every effort they put in and salute you for your patience of a month long enough to declare one of them as a winner.

I am so so so happy that you believe in Beauty Traveller and follow the blog. I hope I help you in smidgen of a way and hope that makes a change in someone's life. I am so jealous of so many beauty bloggers who meet up and have a wonderful time and wish I'd that much of time too....Thats why I love the blog because its connects me to you and you to me.

Anyways....lets learn more about these Giveaways....

The Eye COMET

While trying to sort out colors combinations from the Vice Palette of Urban Decay, I remember Haley's Comet. A Comet with a tail of light, flying across the galaxy and creating a lot of drama...LOL...I love comets and I think this palette had all the colors that could be used to create a comet.

Basically this is an extended eye and a fantastic way to look absolutely stunning. Its a great way to extend round eyes and create more of an almond shape or a feline eye. This is extremely seductive and really works amazing well in the evenings.

So lets see, how to get the look........

Review : Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hr Blush

In today's article, I shall share a quick review of the famed Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hr blushes in 2 colors - Tipsy (coral) and Exposed (Nude). I bought the Tipsy one from Beautiful store in India at a humongous price that whatever one would get abroad, while the Exposed one was a part of Tarte's Amazonian Treasures. Its better to finish them both in the same review instead of splitting them...

Tarte is known for making these bright and beautiful blushes and I feel bad that I got one after such a long time. These long wearing blushes give the most aspired flush of a color which stays long and looks fresh and natural. Although the colors are very bright in the pan, they are a dream to work with since they from sheer to high impact as you build them up and literally melt into the skin.

So lets have a look at these two fabulous blushes...........

Model Makeup : Victoria

I had some fabulous time doing makeup for a jewelry event at the Four Season's Hotel, Mumbai hosted by Anita Vaswani (a fabulous jewelry designer) and Jasani Jewelers (at Altamount Rd, Kemp's Corner, Mumbai). The event was the launch of their jewelry line on the lines of Classic, Bridal and Urban (designed by Anita for a free spirited urban woman). The styling for the show was done by the effervescent and talented Tia Paranjape for Style Cracker.

It was fun backstage (in a hotel room) to do makeups to the models from Anima Creatives Model Management and the models were chosen with the amazing personas they had. The Classic lady aka Victoria wore this fabulous salmon colored top and grey skirt and we talked about the classic Hollywood style eye liner flick and plummy stain, all inspired by Pat McGrath.

So lets see how to get this look (all ethnicities btw)..............

Review : Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder in 02 Brunettes

I look for a glowing skin in all the seasons. Who can resist one? The subtle warmth of the skin, the flushed out cheeks and the sun kissed glow is what everyone wants. I spend on a lot of products to get that effect and Guerlain is one brand I trust the most. This is not a new product in the market, but its iconic and phenomenal.

So here's Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder in 02 Brunettes......let's have a look............

Autumn-Winter - Glow Purple

This is a look I did on one of my clients (using BH cosmetics Tropical Shimmer Palette) and since I had the same colors in my Dior 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palette in Extase Pink, I thought of getting inspired. Although these colors spell 'Summer' (that is when the collection was launched), the greys in the palette bring out the Autumnal effect in this look. Its very surreal and when paired with a darker plum lip spells the Vintage Vamp Look a la Charlotte Tilbury, whom I adore the most.

Please pardon the little lashes that come in between the fanned up mascara-ed lashes. I really hate them and pull them out every time ( I dont know whether I should do this or else I may go bald on that patch plus this disease is called Trichotilomania).

Also adding a bit of smokiness to the gel liner makes it look divine and ethereal. I call this as a Smokey Feliner....Anyways, lets see how to do this look....

NYX Cosmetics Haul - A dream one

NYX Cosmetics has been around for a while and almost every blogger has talked about it somewhere. My only products from NYX were their cosmetic pencils and I always loved the variety of colors they have. While a small quick visit to 1st Beauty Ghatkopar, I was stunned to see NYX Cosmetics on sale of 40% discount. Isn't it madness???Since the bridal and festive season is on, I thought of buying some products and landed up getting some interesting ones.

Soon I shall be making another haul as soon as I pay for my Urban Decay Vice 2 palette (oops...another review)...anyways...have a look....

Full moon on a lotus leaf!!!

This is recreating one amazing look which I did for Prerna. Midnight amazing smoldering eyes...ultra glamorous, isn't it?

The inspiration for this makeup comes from a full moon night. Imagine the moon light falling on a lotus leaf in a pond. The frogs croaking a melody whilst the moon light dancing on a tune on the rippling waters. We see his (moon's) reflection on a lotus leaf that has few water droplets playing on the surface. What a beautiful site! But this is just a moment and if missed, it may not come back. Have you seen it??

So lets see how to get this look....it could be a great festive look for the season.....

Fall Season has some really inspiring look. It could be a sparkly bare skin or dramatically colored lips, Fall-Winter Season is one of the times where it can be experimented. It just infuses magic....

Review : LORAC Real Life to Red Carpet PRO Eye Tutorial

Here is a quick glimpse of this fabulous LORAC set I got from Shivani of Order Makeup UK, along with the PRO palette. I always wanted to buy this brand and she happened to be the best reason to source it for me. So, thanks a million again.

This is just going to be a quick review and then I shall do a detailed review of each of the product from this kit (and increase the number of my articles) which shall appear sporadically through the span of the blog. Right now, I just wanted to share the most superficial information and what does this little (of it's own) Pandora's box actually contain. First of all its a LIMITED EDITION collection so in case you like the post, please order it asap before it disappears.

So lets have a quick look..........

Instagram Tut!!

Since it was the first day of Navratri, we decided to do a modern Indian look which matched the custom made Tarun Tahiliani number Prerna wore for the day. The meetings were casual and the saree added a lot of glamour to that day.I used my amazing and famed LORAC Pro Palette to achieve this look and I am really proud of it.

I have been asked by a few readers to even provide relevant links for reference. Thence I shall be adding links to certain products. Please note that these are not affiliate links. I shall be only providing links of the products that are available in India or can be bought through online shopping sites like Beauty Bay and StrawberryNET.

So lets see how to achieve this look............................

Review : LORAC Pro Palette

Today I shall be reviewing one of the most coveted and most sought after palettes of the year...the LORAC PRO Palette... a gorgeous melange of daily wear neutrals that can take you from a day office look to a night time glamorous look in a couple of strokes...Please note that I am not including swatches (to show my hairy hands) but will include links where one can see them. Subsequently the looks will follow.

For those who are new to the brand or never heard before, LORAC is a brand started and developed by Celebrity makeup artist Carol Shaw who wanted to fill the lacunae of not having the right products that she needed for her Oscar and Golden Globe Clients. With the likes of amazing Hollywood Celebs and a brand that is so skin friendly and infused with Botanicals, LORAC has carved a niche in the world of beauty. What more to say, the products that they make can just let anyone be on the 'Red Carpet'!!

So lets have a look at the LORAC Pro palette...................

Quick Look!!

I happened to borrow a friend's Dior palette and put it to test to see whether it was worth the money. Thence I did not end up shooting a tutorial but made a quick 5 min makeup look to really see how the palette was.

Due to their excruciatingly high costs, Dior 5 Couleurs palettes are a bit like unsung heroes. They seem to get too pricey for colors that may get repeated as well. Anyways, here I have used the Nude Pink Design palette from their earlier collections. Dior boasts this one to be a complete palette with a primer, highlighter, liner and 2 shadows that help complete the look.

So let me quickly take you through achieving this look........

A Haul this October!!

After quite a long wait and a wait that was worth it, I finally got my fantastic parcel of LORAC cosmetics, all thanks to Shivani Chedda. Shivani was so warm and lovely as a person and I cant thank her enough to get me these products. Since I collected them from the Palladium mall, and then after meeting amazing Rashmi of Indyabeauty, I did end up picking up a couple more of things too.

Anyways the star of the day happens to be LORAC..... So lets quickly see what I got! There are more things that are worth a mention too and I really promise of doing the reviews soon. (uff!! the time constraints)....

Guerlain Fall 2013 Collection - Violette De Madame

I just didn't have the patience to wait for the Guerlain Press Release to come (which I know would never come to me..LOL) and just did some copying pasting to get into the Guerlain's Fall 2013 collection which shall be officially launched in India in a couple of days. Although I may not get any PR Samples to review (and save the obligation), I shall be getting a preview of this collection and then me and Prerna would literally buy everything that is nice and is worth taking....

So lets have a sneak peak at what all is coming............I shall be able to give the prices only when informed.

Again a beautiful saree in the closet to don we opted for a beautiful fresh rosy glow.

Smoldering moonlit eyes with fresh skin and rosy lips is the idea behind this look. Think of an English rose look. So lets see how to get the look.

Instagram Tut!!

For this makeup where Prerna donned a lovely Tarun Tahiliani number, I wanted her to look like a heroine in the 80s era a la Shri Devi. So we planned voluminous hair done by hairstylist Vaishali and a lovely neutral eye with bold red lips, a signature Dolce-Gabbana lipstick called Devil.

So lets see how to do this look. It can be achieved in a matter of minutes and still be easy, fast and glam!!....

Mauve'in Rouge - EOTD

September has been a bad month for Beauty Traveller with so many hindrances. But October seems promising and what's better than commencing the month with an EOTD....

The Fall-Winter Season of fashion and beauty trends begins, and is really inviting for deeper colors and of course purple tones. So enter in the jewel tones, purples, plums, burgundies, mauves et al and what a lovely time to don some more makeup. Today's look is about color alteration by adding low lights to the lids under a highlighting shade. This creates a 3 D look which is sheer perfection. 'Mauve'in Rouge' is a beauty adaptation of Moulin Rouge though it has nothing to do with it. (LOL)

I used my beloved YSL Pure Chromatics palette no.19 to do this look and it couldn't be translated better (color wise) than that.....So lets see how to achieve this look...
