Instagram POST - Bridal Makeup - Shreya

Sorry for the long missing in action times and really running around schedules that made me ignore Beauty Traveller for a long time. I am trying to make some Instagram posts again to keep the spirit of the blog alive and then shall get into full on writing as soon as I permit some free time.

Yesterday's bride was an amazing challenge. One of the main reasons being, we had never done a makeup or hair trial before. Shreya is a chilled management graduate with a lucrative French job and really cool headed and calmer than calm. Its a boon to have someone like this who is so level headed and open for creativity. She is a die hard Deepika Padukone follower and wanted us to incorporate a nuance of her in the Maharashtrian wedding that was about to happen.

The hair was an amazing piece de resistance and I shall share more pics of the hairstyling too. Of course, since the makeup was done by me, I happened to click some quick pictures on my Blackberry and post them on Instagram and Facebook and other social media sites. Lets see how to achieve this look in some quick and easy steps....

Review : Kryolan Lip N Cheek in Poppy

After reviewing those incredible PR samples of Kryolan Lip N Cheek, my mind compelled me to go and get other shades too. Unfortunately a lot of them happen to be out of stock but I was lucky enough to lay my hands on Amaryllis, Dahlia and a very beautiful deep tangerine shade called Poppy.

Lip N Cheek are very versatile products and more than a regular lip and cheek stain which other brands make. These are seriously waterproof and do not budge at all. The color intensity is phenomenal and trust me, a little goes a long way literally.

Lets have a quick look..............

Intense Smokey Eyes

I wanted to do some 3 Dimensional smokey eyes and what a better time to do than Navratri (festival of Goddess Durga). Let this be an inspiration for someone who wants to sport an alluring makeup on this day and look pretty. Also this is one the inspirations for Fall 2014 which is almost on its way to Winters.

I have used the scintillating Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette to create this look. Unfortunately I did not shoot a tutorial since this was a practice makeup for a client the next day. Lets see the products used to get a complete look while the tutorial shall be done in my sister blog HERE.

Review : BH cosmetics Special Occasion Palette

The name of this palette is so apt. Its indeed a special occasion palette.............I had to buy the BH cosmetics Special Occasion Palette as a future replacement of my favorite Jenni Rivera palette, which they have discontinued and its also an unfortunate early demise of Jenni. The eyeshadows in this palette are amazingly pigmented and the blushes are so ethereal, making this a go-to palette for makeup jobs and when I need everything together and yet not carry a lot of products.
The colors in the special occasion palette are ever so alluring and can be used to create a subtle neutral day look and then add scintillating touches to make it a smokey evening glamour. So much and more to say about this amazing palette.............

Lets have a look...........

Down the Memory Lane.......

(Lord Ganesha in his several forms)

Two and half years pass today while it marks the 2nd Birthday of my beloved Father Mr.Shrikant Navare. Words fail to envelope the persona, the deeds, the virtues and the unfathomable heart of man who was loved by the God himself.

He was the one who taught me everything I know today. Being a commercial artist and an alumnus of the famous J J School of Arts, painting came naturally to him. He had an amazing sense of detailing and dotting down fine lines to complete a picture. His art works were an intertwining of the ancient and modern art, the conventional and the unconventional and he specialized in stills and potraits. His penchant for Gods and mythology, lead him to paint some beautiful and out of this world paintings and here's one of his works.

Apart from being a super commercial artist, he was a businessman (working against his wish for my grandfather who he loved the most), an admirer of nature (he taught us to love animals and we had deer, peacocks, rabbits, pigeons and some really funny monkeys as pets apart from our favorite breed of dogs, the German Shepherds) and he headed several cultural activities and societies in Ambernath while being the President of Natya Parishad and Sangeet Sabha, representing Ambernath. He was one of the best theatre artists I know as acting came naturally to him. He was indeed an all rounder.

(most recent picture when he was suffering from end stage kidney disease)

My daddy had to go through immense health related sufferings due to high Diabetes and an improperly diagnosed pneumonic patch in the lungs which started it all in 1991. He had to encounter a battery of invasive and non invasive tests and the suffering was endless. And the vicious cycle began. With a left sided retinal detachment, an unhealed diabetic foot ulcer, cardio myopathy with left ventricular enlargement and failure and a progressive end stage kidney disease, not one day did my father escape a near-death situation since 2006. But when someone accepts the situation as it is and instead of wailing and ailing he started enjoying the moments he had rather than waiting for what the future has to unfold. He found and paved a path of spirituality and holistic development through the famous The Art of Living which gave him the strength and endurance to pass through the immense pain his body was giving him.

When one decides to live in the present and does not tether to the past or wait for the future, he enjoys the bliss of the gift God has bestowed upon him. The gift of 'TODAY'. Thats what he followed and thats what he taught all of us. He was more than a father. He was the heart of the house. He was the life line on which me, my mother, my granny and my brother lived. He was one of the most important reasons for all of us to live and look upon. He was the force that kept us from falling apart (mentally). And today he is no more. My father has given us innumerable memories and they come back to us as vivid visuals of what a beautiful life we all had.

Today we miss Him the most. With every food item made in the house, to every place that we visit, to every road that is taken, to every little joke that is cracked, to every National Geographic program we watch,,,,,,,,,,,,he is missed. When I go through the old photographs, I realize that the 'fun' we had those days were actually going to be the memories that we shall hold forever. He left all of us with immense trauma that shall need a lot of time to heal. Today a Mother lost her most beloved son, a wife lost a noble and caring husband, his sons lost a very very loving, caring and talented father while his countless friends lost a friend who ruled their hearts.

Wish you a very very Happy Birthday Daddy. You are an angel and you are somewhere there watching all of us. Miss you Daddy.....I wish we had spent one more day with you...

Till then,

Ciao

Product Watch - Sephora USA

I am sure there are millions ogling at the amazing Sephora launches. We may not be in the US, but we all strive hard in our own ways to get someone (absolutely disinterested) to get us products from there. Its not only that its a cheaper option to get them imported through a friend, but also they have the most current launches that keep us all at our par. When it comes to being consumer friendly and to keep the flow going, USA happens to be one of the best countries ever.

This time's Sephora launches that I am ogling are not limited to makeup and include skin care and some other things too. So lets get started..............

Review : NYX Xtreme Lip Cream

I am writing this review after eons of using this fabulous product and they are almost getting over now....These Xtreme Lip creams are really amazing on pigmentation, gives a beautiful rosebud lip and is perfect for a long lasting finish. They have some incredibly wearable colors and lets get to know a bit more of these hidden gems.

Xtreme Lip Cream is a liquid lipstick that glides amazingly and stays put for quite a while (at least 3 hrs on my models and clients) and creates an appearance of healthy moisturized lips that do not look extremely made up. Its high on coverage and opacity and a smidgen of a size creates a wonderful effect.

Model Makeup - Megan Acton

I got to do Megan Acton's makeup for photographer Munjal Gandhi and its been an uplifting experience. Megan is an Irish actor and has done a Hindi Debut for which she needed pictures for the press. The pics were taken by photographer and my very 'talented' friend Munjal Gandhi.

The photos that I am sharing are candid and taken by my own Blackberry Q10 phone. These are not high resolution pics and those will follow in the subsequent posts. I shall be listing the makeup products used in the looks and the changes that were done and added. I have done a slight amount of editing and correction in the lighting as the pictures looked yellow on camera using online editor PicMonkey. Hope you like them all. Lets have a look.

MAIL aka Makeup Artist I Love - Mary Greenwell

Makeup Artist Mary Greenwell is no less than a 'legend'. One of the most respected and highly honored makeup artiste we would ever come across, Mary is simply the most amazing lady ever. Being a top makeup artist encapsulates many aspects - from the talent to the persona to the presentation and Mary happens to be the 'Goddess' of makeup.

Mary Greenwell is known for a lot of things. She pioneered many aspects of makeup single handedly, gave rise to some of the very famous products that are precious (Elizabeth Arden Smokey Eye Pencil) and have inspired careers of so many other famous makeup artists we know of, including Charlotte Tilbury, Tom Pecheux, Diane Kendal and Lisa Eldridge. When it all started in 1984 - Mary has been one of the most coveted makeup artists of the beauty industry and the saga continues.

Let's have a glimpse at some of the enormous contributions of the legendary Mary Greenwell.............

MAIL aka Makeup Artists I love

This is a new feature on Beauty Traveller and I promise to be consistent with at least this one. I hope you find it as interesting and inspirational as I have myself felt while writing about these icons. In the past I have written articles on my favorite makeup artists but every time I browse and find about them, I get inspired again to write about them. I think MAIL is a nice yet silly abbreviation for Makeup Artists I Love but nonetheless....(what's in the name - Shakespeare).

Thanks to the amazing world of Instagram one can feel an e-closeness (aka electronic closeness) to the icons in the fields that they like and since I love makeup, I look upon these icons and (they have inspired my career too). I have considered this top notch, famous and magical makeup artist as my gurus and teachers. Makeup is one field where we all makeup artists (that means anyone and everyone who does makeup) are related by our lipsticks and eyeshadows and foundations and the trade that it is. You may be famous or you may have begun, we all have our inspirations and why not talk about them.

MAIL shall feature some amazing makeup artists I follow personally and I shall write a small biography about them in the subsequent posts. This is group of articles of the most amazing people in this amazing field who are not only known from their celeb clients but also for their ground breaking achievements in this ever growing field of BEAUTY. Unfortunately this shall limit to a lot of references and CUT COPY PASTE works taken from Google (but who cares!! as long as you get to write about them). Writing about these icons is like worshiping them so why not!!!...

Soon I shall be writing about my favorite MARY GREENWELL to begin with...so do keep an eye on this set of articles....

Till then,

Ciao

Review : MAC Fluidline Brow GelCreme in DEEP DARK BRUNETTE

I shall be reviewing the amazing MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme in Deep Dark Brunette. As an answer to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade, MAC made a gel creme that could be amazing to fill the brows and shape them up. Since recent times 'BROWS' have got a special importance in makeup and however overrated it is, the brows are what makes the makeup look complete and amazing. Amidst the brow pencils, brow gels and brow mascaras, finally comes a product that can give you even more precise application without too much of pain and building and get you water resistant (sweat) brows every time and every day.

MAC's Fluidline formula has been a cult favorite and in the past I have seen and heard from many makeup artists on filling the brows with the traditional fluidline. Being a gel liner, this one is really malleable and does a good job in brow definition and thence the thought process behind developing a brow gel creme liner was an excellent idea. And there are cons to this too. Lets get to know them somewhere in the article below.

Super Smokey

I really got late to post this look. And I must say that this is one of my favorite looks. Its super smokey, sooty and a bit untidy but I love it for that. I have done this look using the amazing LORAC Starry eyed baked eyeshadow palette and other accessories that came in a LORAC Kit (Real Life to Red Carpet PRO) that I got from Shivani of Order Makeup UK.

Since then LORAC has been a favorite brand for all the eyeshadows that they make.

This article shall feature the PRODUCTS used to create this smokey eye look and also the complimentary face accessories that go with it. I shall also do a step by step tutorial of the same on my other blog (that shall be linked HERE). I shall also be posting a quick review of this eyeshadow palette.

So lets see what products went into creating this look.

Pop Art - Fuchsia Eyes

I did this ultra simple look inspired by the pop art culture (thanks Andy Warhol). Its the easiest eye makeup one can do (with the daring to carry it). Fuchsia can be one of those high impact eyeshadows that will not only open up the eyes but also make them look a bit whiter than usual (due to a hint of blue in it). It looks very alluring when done although I can see only some people being able to sport the look.

When colors like Fuchsia are used on the eyes, its better to go 'mono chromatic'. With the colors from the same family, they do not clash with each other (until you want to go theatrical and try using 'RED' eyeshadow with an 'ORANGE' blush and a 'BLUE' Lipstick). The monochrome palette works magically. I also advice to go a bit more 'flawless' than usual while sporting such colors as they tend to accentuate the unwanted features of the face. Thence a touch heavier hand on the concealer and foundation.

So lets see what products were used in this look. I shall be discussing the details on 'How-to' on my other blog. Please click HERE to see the look. Also kindly note that I shall be putting relevant links for some of the products I highly recommend. These links are for the products that have international shipping. Do click on the 'AFFILIATE' link for www.strawberrynet.com in case you'd want to purchase the products.

Review : Guerlain Blush 4 Eclats in Lueur D'Automne

I love blushes! I feel that a blush is what completes the makeup. Its a bridge between the eyes and the lips and helps maintain the balance. A blush aka rouge as it was called once upon a time, helps mimic a natural flush or a sunkissed glow on the face.

Guerlain's Lueur D'Automne blew my mind! Its that surreal blush color that I always wanted and when it came with 2 sculpting colors, it made the combination even more beautiful. With a richly pigmented formula with a subtle effect that can be built into a strong color, Guerlain has done an amazing job with the Blush 4 Eclats.

So lets know Lueur D'Automne a bit more....

A Makeup by A Makeup Artist

As consumers and pros we have used makeup since the longest time. It could be films and television, fashion, bridal to everyday usage, makeup has played a vital role in many lives. Makeup has given faces their identities. Be it the seductive eyes and red lips of Marilyn OR the thick brows of Liz Taylor OR the smokey intense eyes and fresh beige lips of Brigitte Bardot, we have always looked upon these icons. Makeup has done wonders to women and men and we have a lot of people to thank to.

In the 21st Century however, makeup has become much more professional. Every company strives to bring it some amazing trends, some amazing products and DIY makeup that could be as easy as a makeup artist doing for you. To emphasize of the 'MAKEUP ARTIST' part, I would love to talk about the brands that have been developed by makeup artist. Eponymous brands that have some iconic cult products that may have made a woman's job much easier and much better.

Developing an entire product line is not as easy as one can think of. It needs a lot of experience in the cosmetic industry, needs working on formulations and developing newer ones to cater the demands of the ever needing population. There are so many iconic makeup artist turned entrepreneurs and I shall pay a homage to most of them and their brands that I know. Saying so, let me talk about some amazing makeup brands that are eponymous to the makeup artists that made them.

Model Makeup - Alina

I had decided that if I get a chance to post some 'real' aka untouched pictures of this shoot that I did with Alina, I would. Instead of living in a perfect world of perceptions, its better to accept irregularities in the real world. This makes us unique and amazing.

Alina is a beautiful soul. She is a philanthropist and has embraced the grass roots of humanity that is 'Love'. Her brother Salman is the centre of her and her family's life (he suffers from Down's) and its only the love that keeps them all moving. Such an inspiration when I had a tete-a-tete with Alina about how her life is surrounded around the bundle of joy in their house. Trust me! It isn't that easy, but it is motivating.

Anyways lets have a look at what products were used for this tutorial.....

Model Makeup

Extremely sorry for missing in action. I might not be doing too many posts in the summer season or else I could faint in front of my laptop due to the heat.

Here's a quick makeup breakup of the look that I did for model Ekta for her photoshoot. The photographer was amazing Mr.Angad Singh, the stylist Khushboo Samwani and the hairstylist my favorite and regular Rekha (tai) Chauthani. The shoot was at a studio in Andheri and oozed positivity and good will. These pictures are taken from my Blackberry Q10 and I am still waiting to get the photographs myself.

So lets have a look at the makeup look I did for Ekta. I shall be mentioning the products so that anyone who reads this post can replicate this look with the same products or similar products....

My Favorite Eyeshadow Primers

I really apologize for missing in action for quite a long time. Its these scorching summers and terrible sweats that made me a bit lazy and tardy and on one of those hot summery evenings (like today) I am attempting to complete at least one article.

Today I shall be talking about my favorite eyeshadow primers. These are my saviors and help me get through a lot of my blog tuts and of course my makeup jobs on clients. I simply adore the fact that these eyeshadow primers make my job so much easier and the impact that the eyeshadows get is really high plus the staying power and longevity is what makes my clients happy and (they call me again) pretty even in the most compromising climatic conditions.

Lets have a looksie....

Tackling the Summer Situation!!

How to Keep Your Skin and Hair Looking and Feeling Great!!!

Summer is brilliant for lots of things, but having sweaty skin and greasy hair is not so great!
Maintaining a beauty regime throughout those hotter days is essential to keeping your skin clear and your hair looking healthy.
There are some absolute ‘must-dos’ during Summer if you really want to look and feel amazing.

You may not be familiar with them all, but there are hundreds of tips that will make you feel fresher during the summer months. It is important to take these on board if you want to look like a total babe during the holidays!

Skin Care
Taking care of your skin can be challenging, especially when hormones are flying around, ruining your gorgeous looking skin, it usually happens at times when you could do without it - what a pain!
Here are the best ways in which you can look after your skin this summer:

ALWAYS Drink Water -Water hydrates the skin and gives it a youthful and clear texture. Our skin is constructed with cells that are all made up of water. Therefore without topping up your body with more water, the skin cells will eventually stop functioning as well as they could be, causing a breakout. Although drinking water is essential, directly applying water to your skin is also essential. Direct contact will allow the water to get into your pores and clear out any dirt or bad germs.                                                                      One of the other problems many women struggle with is cellulite and stretch marks, the intake of water will fill out those skin cells and help to push out the cellulite and other marks.

Skin Type - Everyone’s skin is different, you can either have dry, oily or combination skin. It is vital that you know your skin type before you go out and buy products as most products will highlight the type of skin they are made for, so you should always go for the correctly matched ones. The thing you should not do is use a product designed for dry skin if you have oily skin, as this can encourage your skin to produce more oil - you don’t want that!

Exfoliate - Our skin cells can be easily damaged through the buildup of dirt, make-up and other environmental factors. Therefore you should exfoliate the skin as regularly as possible, this will essentially mean that you are getting rid of the dead skin cells before they can gain more bacteria.  The methods of exfoliation and how regularly you should do it depends on the skin type. Following this however, you should not exfoliate every day, this can cause the skin to become irritated, red and patchy. You can purchase a wide range of products to use during exfoliation, you should use a product that is natural and is going to get deep into your pores in order to remove bacteria. Exfoliation scrubs require you to use specifically designed gloves to physically scrub it into your skin cells. There is also the choice of skin peels which are ideal for those with oily skin, as these can remove any excess oil from the T-zone.

Freshening Up - Daily routines are important to your skin because your skin will begin getting used to the way you treat it. If you discover dark circles around your eyes in the morning, you need to decrease the darkness - without cheating by applying concealer! If you need to reduce black bags, apply hot green tea bags to the eyes, the natural elements in the tea will freshen up your eyes.                                                                  The next stage to freshening up is using a green tea based toner and cotton pads to get dirt from your pores. You should apply pressure around the face in a circular motion and you will see any removed bacteria on your cotton pad. You should do this every morning before applying makeup, otherwise you are building bacteria straight into your skin cells.

Try to remember to eat fruit throughout the day and eventually this will pay off and your skin will remain youthful and gorgeous!

Hair

The summer weather makes our hair sometimes appear too dry or too greasy, women can have many problems with their hair - especially in the summer. It may seem impossible to get that typical shiny hair effect like all the models on TV adverts, however, our tips prove that it is achievable.

Hair dye - The biggest issue so many of us share is the thinning of our hair or the way it looks ‘dead’ after dying our hair so much. The most obvious way to avoid this is simple - stop dying it, but I understand that this can’t always be an option. It is always advisable to avoid peroxide at all costs, this is the number one chemical of killing a person’s hair! Many hair dyes now contain natural colourants that will moisturise the hair without chemically damaging it.

Washing your hair - The biggest mistake you can make is getting into the habit of washing your hair every day. Doing this will wash away all of the natural oils produced by scalp, causing your head to produce an excess amount each day. With an excess amount of oil, your hair will look greasy more regularly, making it shiny but for all the wrong reasons!                              Aim to thoroughly wash your hair every two days in a warm to cool temperature of water to avoid heat damage. Use a good shampoo and conditioner that will benefit your scalp and hair type then rub it until it covers your entire head. After rubbing the products into your scalp, make sure to wash ALL of it out, it can be easy to rush it and leave product in the hair giving it a greasy appearance. One way to avoid the greasy feel, is to wash with a blast of cold water directly onto your roots, this will make your hair look glossy and flawless.

Heat protection - Heat can damage your hair and make it dry and lifeless. To avoid this, use hair protectant spray before you blow dry it and wear a hat or a bandanna in hot weather. This simple step is sure to decrease the chances of permanent hair damage.

These tips promise to make you feel and look good this summer. Make sure you follow them all to get soft skin and silky smooth hair!

My favorite Summer Blushes - Peaches and Corals

Summer makeup is all about 'sorbet' colors. Its all about bringing color to your face and enhancing or faking your tan (please do not get tanned under the sun. Its not natural. Its dangerous). Summer makeup is given special emphasis in a lot of countries that face strong and severe winters and this is the best way to get rid of the wintry paleness and get a glow back.

If not pinks or roses, your best friends are oranges and peaches and corals. I am not a huge fan of orange blushes as they scare me (I feel that a bright orange blush could emphasize the blueness of the skin instead of hiding it), I love to have apricots and peaches and corals in my vanity to uplift my client's complexions (LOL). So here are 4 of my favorite blushes in this category...........

My Favorite Summer Blushes - Roses and Pinks

I must say that I am a crazy blush hoarder and I just love blushes. Blushes can do magical things to uplift the complexion, create that 'desired' healthy flush whenever you want it and balance the makeup by being a bridge between your eye makeup and lip makeup. Review : Clinique All About Eyes Quad - Jenna's Essentials

Today I am reviewing my favorite Clinique eyeshadow quad called Jenna's Essentials, a lovely quad of the most basic eyeshadows inspired and named after Clinique's Global Artist Expert, Jenna Menard. I am so happy to see Clinique concentrating on makeup and on the new ideas inoculated by the brand after realizing the potential of the color market and bringing in dermatologist developed and approved brand of allergy tested and 100% fragrance free cosmetics.

I purchased mine from the Shopper Stop at Juhu for 2150 INR for 4.8 gms as it was almost out of stock everywhere. Jenna's Essentials happens to be an everyday palette with some very quintessential and basic colors for any beginner to step in the world of makeup. So lets have a look at this beautiful essential quad....................................

The Makeup that lasted long!!!

(This is one of my favorite looks for Summer from the house of Dior for Summer 2014. It may not wearable but its adorable and I can imagine how sizzling it would look. Its just a pictorial representation and has got nothing to do with the article. I shall be doing the look break up in the Rapid Fire Makeup Article series that will start again.)

Summers have arrived and the heat is scorching and killing me already. Its 'hot' beyond hot this time and its just the beginning of April. There are 2 entire months of heated torture and I am waiting for rains very desperately. LOL. To think about makeup in such heated conditions is to only expect a huge melt down on the face and to erase the sweat tracks on the cheeks with a tissue.

This is not what I expect from my makeup...So this year I thought of making the makeup almost invincible. A makeup that would last and live upto 4 hrs in the scary climatic conditions outside. A makeup that is almost sweat (water) resistant and can be pulled by most of the ladies out there. This is a makeup look I tried on my mother (who doesn't wear any makeup) on a Sunday afternoon (when she wanted to go for a wedding) and she was flabbergasted to see that little makeup lasting through the entire day. Since the wedding was indoors on a scorching Sunday afternoon, I am proud to announce that her makeup really lasted well and she did dab the excess sweat with tissue as per my instructions and it was a miracle. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture but I can share what I did.

Let's see the waterproofing in a step by step manner............

My Makeup WISH LIST

People have been buying from Sephora left-right-center and I am the one who is brooding on the fact that I cannot lay my hands on anything (also translates as no money, bankruptcy and no one to get the products). This article is for those who want to shop from Sephora and may have missed some quirky and lovely products. These products are from the most visited 'What's new' section of Sephora and look quite interesting albeit customer reviews.

Lancome Dream Tone - A Beautiful Skin Naturally

I had to publish this PR note (and some more interesting ones) since I am using this product and I can't tell you how lovely it is. Still on the samples of no.02 and soon shall open the bottle for reviewing.

“A truly beautiful complexion is without marks or blemishes, is perfectly even, and radiates health.  It is completely free from imperfections, and this type of skin is one that women are happy to show make-up free. Radiant, perfect skin says something about who we are and serves as a message to the outside world. It is a direct reflection of our inner well-being and balance - and brings confidence to our everyday lives. For all these reasons, skin quality is something important for almost all women, of all ages, of all skin types, all over the world.

The options to achieve perfect skin are many. Anti spots or anti-redness skincare, brightening skincare, BB creams, CC creams, foundations... Products that hover between skincare and makeup, that enhance the skin with a beautifully natural result, but with the very real drawback that the result is rarely complete and most of the time fleeting.

Staying ahead of the curve regarding women’s expectations in beauty is important for us, and, with this in mind, now once again, Lancôme creates the opportunity for a departure in the habits and beauty rituals of women all over the world. A unique and comprehensive response to the universal desire for beautiful skin, an everyday treatment creating a skin finish that is natural and that really lasts: we’ve called it DreamTone.

Based on important scientific discoveries on pigmentation made by our research teams, and deployed in 3-page turning formulas, the exclusive Triple Action Technology in DreamTone provides the answer to the desire for beautiful skin. It’s the first bespoke, all-round, pigment corrector that acts on both dark spots, the lack of uniformity and colour irregularities, on the three great pigmentation profiles identified by the occidental world. Attributed with nine patents, DreamTone’s 3 exclusive formulas show previously unrecorded levels of performance, metamorphosing the skin, revealing its natural beauty and developing a quality to the skin that women hitherto had only dreamed of.

With DreamTone, Lancôme opens up a new era in cosmetics: the skin of dreams, naturally, without make-up."

Do-It-Yourself Spring Makeup 2014

Every year Fashion Makeup Maestros and makeup brands predict the seasonal trends. Even Pantone makes the 'Color of the Year' which is Radiant Orchid and has already been used (and abused) by a lot of people till date. Pro Makeup Brands like MAC talk about futuristic trends that can be adapted in daily lives (imagine 'Androgyny') and amazing people like Pat McGrath, Charlotte Tilbury, Tom Pecheux, Lisa Eldridge, Lucia Pieroni, Diane Kendal etc. making some of the most incredible models for some amazing designers in the latest of the Spring collections.

In all this pell mell and too much of fashion exposure, a common day to day woman (and some men who do makeup for livelihood) suffer. On the makeup counters, SAs are compelled to promote such looks without any understanding and conscience (a strong word to say). What do 'WE' learn out of this? Nothing...SO its important to incorporate these trends and makeup ourselves feel happy thence the term DIY. Whatever is written in this article is a for a common wo(man) who wants to prep her makeup wardrobe and update herself to look the best for Spring and Summer of 2104. These are the trends which she makes for herself. Please remember no one would hang you for not applying a certain lipstick. Its about how 'comfortable' you are.

Here are a few Spring-Summer Makeup tips which I feel would look good one most of them. I have no problem if anyone wants to follow specific trends...its their makeup freedom...my intentions are to help someone if they need it. Lets have a look......
