Review : Chanel Joues Contraste in Rose Petale

Chanel makes such beautiful blushes. I can't think of one that could be bad and actually I won't even buy if it was bad (LOL). Joues Contraste blushes are pigmented, smooth and silky and impart a fabulous radiant glow. Even the matte formulations have a silky glowing effect on the skin which is quite surreal given the fact that its a baked formula unlike baked blushes from MAC, Colorbar and Bourjois.

Everytime I buy a Joues Contraste, I wait to see the breathtaking result that I will get from the blush and every time I succeed. This time it is Rose Petale...........lets have a looksie....

Chanel says......

The touch of colour and radiance.
Offers effects from very natural to very sophisticated. Used as a simple touch of colour, it gives your complexion a healthy glow. As a professional tool, it shapes and models your face (cheekbones, browbones, forehead, chin, along the nose).
Manufactured by a process exclusive to CHANEL, the compact and silky texture of JOUES CONTRASTE gives easy application and subtle blending. The brush is made of natural hair.
Highlighting your cheekbones enhances the youthful appearance of your face. For the eye zone, choose a satiny tone to soften and rejuvenate this area.

PACKAGING

Rose Petale comes in the classic Chanel Joues Contraste packaging of a glossy black plastic case with a Chanel logo in white. On opening there is a full size mirror and the blush with a teeny blush brush for on-the-go application. The box comes in a black velvet which adds a lot to the luxury quotient of the product.

FORMULA

Rose Petale is a smooth silky softly shimmered baked blush that gives a surreal pink glow on the skin. Because of the baked texture, the brush picks up the exact amount of the blush that needs to be deposited and neither more or less. The blush has a strong rosy fragrance to it which disappears on application. The formula glides on the cheeks and the blush is very very blendable even when applied on wet foundation where it does not leave a patch of color like blush formulations. With a small brush more color is deposited while a fluffier blush allows a dispersed application and an ethereal pink glow on the skin.

INGREDIENTS

COLOR

Rose petale is a beautiful rosy pink blush with nuances of beige and brown and has a silvery pink pearl. The color glides easily on the cheeks and imparts a rosy glow that is very classic English rose like. The product is very pigmented and just two swipes is all it takes to build on a decent amount of color with a glow on the cheeks. I use a Real Techniques Multi task brush to apply the blush as it spreads it well and blends it evenly.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

If I am not mistaken, this is one of the fastest selling blushes in Chanel and its a rarity to find it in stock. I got mine from the Palladium store for Rs.2550 INR. I can't guarantee the availability though.

Hope you liked this quick review. Do let me know in the comments.

Till then,
