Summer makeup is all about 'sorbet' colors. Its all about bringing color to your face and enhancing or faking your tan (please do not get tanned under the sun. Its not natural. Its dangerous). Summer makeup is given special emphasis in a lot of countries that face strong and severe winters and this is the best way to get rid of the wintry paleness and get a glow back.
If not pinks or roses, your best friends are oranges and peaches and corals. I am not a huge fan of orange blushes as they scare me (I feel that a bright orange blush could emphasize the blueness of the skin instead of hiding it), I love to have apricots and peaches and corals in my vanity to uplift my client's complexions (LOL). So here are 4 of my favorite blushes in this category...........
- Edward Bess Blush Imperiale in Desert Blossom - This may look like a nude pink blush but on a warm skin like mine it transforms into this ethereal coral beige glow. The blush is finely milled, perfectly pigmented, glides divinely on the skin and most of all stays put for a very very long time (although I layer it over a creme blush). Dessert Blossom looks most amazing over a contour or a bronzer and mixes and blends extremely well. The formulation has a satiny elegance to it and is very good for hot days of the summer. I shall review it soon.
- Chanel Joues Contraste in Frivole - This is one of my ultimate favorite apricot colored blushes. Its a baked perfection. This blush is so subtle that even I wear it during those tiresome days (when I end up looking a bit pale). It is satiny, adds a lovely warmth to the face and can be layered as a full on blush. Mixed with a bronzer, this blush helps mimic a sun-kissed glow everyone longs to have.
- Chanel Joues Contraste in Orchid Rose - This blush is unique to Chanel. No one has ever made a blush so versatile and amazing. Although this blush is described as 'rosy beige' it creates a very complex color on the cheeks with nuances of peaches and corals peeking through the rosiness of the blush. I wouldn't call it as a pink-rose blush just because it translates very differently on different undertones.
- Lancome Blush Subtil in Perles De Blush Corail - Now this blush is the newest addition to my stash. With three colors to blush, enhance and highlight, this blush is known to do wonders in creating an ethereal 3 Dimensional complexion. Its so pigmented and a little goes a long way. Although it looks overtly orange in the pan, it translates to a radiant peachy coral glow that can only be owned or envied.
These are some of my most favorite peaches and corals from my blog stash. I do have a lot of blushes being a blush fanatic and I may not be able to feature all of them together. These blushes remind me of a sizzling summer albeit the scorching heat.
