Instagram Looks - Neeti Mohan for Colors of Youth Grand Finale

I had such a lovely time working with singer extraordinaire Neeti Mohan. She was judging an online show called Maruti Suzuki presents Colours of Youth along with the amazing Benny Dayal. It was a wonderful opportunity to work with her again and today I could share the break down of the look on my blog.

Lets see how to do a step by step look of the same.....

FACE

  • I prepped with some really basic products. Sephora All in One Nourishing oil was massaged on her face in big and small alternating circular motions to enhance the complexion and improve the blood circulation.
  • Then I primed with Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer for the longevity of the makeup and we wanted an almost touch up free makeup.
  • I used HUDA Beauty Faux Filter foundation in 340 Baklava by dabbing with fingers and literally pushing and blending this full coverage foundation. It has a beautiful glow while it settles and it almost uplifts the skin giving that filtered Instagram effect.
  • I corrected using a Becca Targeted Color Corrector in PEACH and then concealed with MAC Cosmetics Full Coverage Foundation in NC35.
  • Set the foundation and the paraphernalia with Chanel Poudre Universelle in 03 Transparent Neutral.
  • Then I used my trustworthy NARS Narsissist Studio Cheek Palette which has been in Sephora over and over again due to its undisputed popularity. I used the contour shade to give Neeti a softer rosy contour and then used my favorite Blush II for a flushed effect. Also added a bit more color with my Bobbi Brown blush in SLOPED.
  • We do not use much of highlighter as the camera lighting creates an oily effect, so refrained from that.

EYES

  • Prep and primed the eyes with my favorite MAC paint pot in Layin' Low. Its peachy color correction and matte formula makes it a fantastic eyeshadow base.
  • For my eyeshadows I used my another favourite Morphe Cosmetics x Jaclyn Hill Palette to create a mesmerizing gaze. This palette is my go-to when I have to create looks which are unplanned and I do not know what attire is being worn. Its a true saviour.
  • Ok....I didn't use the highlighter from this palette as Neeti likes it matte. So I used the one from the Ciate London palette.
  • I applied this mauve-y color called BUNS in the outer corners and took it till the crease. Then applied a bit of POOTER in the crease and transitioned it towards the brow with M.F.E.O. I applied SISSY on the entire lid and highlighted the inner corners with BEAM. Then with a brush dampened with a makeup setting spray I applied OBSESSED in the centre of the lid.
  • For the liner I used my trustworthy L'Oréal Pen liner and kept the brows on fleek with a Bobbi Brown Brow wax in Mahogany.
  • Curled the lashes and applied PAC lashes in no.51 with a Duo Lash glue. My current favourite mascara is Benefit BADgal Bang! Volumizing Mascara in Black. Its unfortunately available in India but I hope it launches soon.

LIPS
  • Since it was a fun related event we didn't want to go with something darker or louder. The most amazing lip color for now is MAC for Padma Lakshmi lipstick in Sunset Rose. Since this is a CREMESHEEN formula its very moisturising and supple and stays throughout the day

The event was co-judged by the uber-talented and mellifluous Benny Dayal and guest judge was Soha Ali Khan. This will have a web release. Hope you liked this tutorial. I shall be making YOUTUBE videos soon so please do keep watching this space.

Till then,

Ciao
