MET GALA Makeup Breakdown - Priyanka Chopra

I think it will be fun to do a break down of the makeup done on the scintillating Priyanka Chopra. I am doing this one first as it involves 'GLITTER' and I have a very old connection with them. Celebrity Makeup Artist Pati Dubroff created a magical look on ethereal Priyanka Chopra.

Met Gala is the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute that is organized by the great Anna Wintour as a fundraising event. Its annual and every year they have a theme with actors and whos who dressing up for this event. Its a phenomenal conglomerate of great costumes, major makeup and hairstyling and always is a centre of inspiration for a lot of events. Met Ball is one of the epoch making events of the year and to be invited to it is a great honour. This year's theme was "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination!" and thence the dresses. Isn't it magical!!

Anyways, let's try to do a version of my own look break down and see how much can we love it!! And yes, there are more to come after that.....

Since I would be doing my version of the makeup, I thought of products that would almost be it or be close to the look. I am also trying to find if anyone knows what Pati has used, but I don't think there will be a lot of articles on the same. So I am sharing some generic products without specific skin shades to begin and complete the look.

To recreate this look at home for yourself, you may need the following products (suggested) -
  • Sephora All in One Nourishing Oil
  • Smashbox Photo Finish Light Primer
  • Fenty Beauty By Rihanna Pro Filt'r Foundation
  • Tarte Shape Tape Concealer
  • Benefit Boeing Brightening Concealer
  • Dior Diorskin Forver Under Cover Under eye concealer
  • Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette
  • MAC Powder Blush in Mocha
  • MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle
  • MAC Pro Longwear Eyeshadow in Layin' Low
  • Marc Jacobs EyeConic Palette in Scandalust
  • Lemonhead Space Jam Face Glitter in Crystal Tokyo
  • Dior Diorshow Pump N Volume Mascara in Black
  • Shu Uemura Eye lash curler
  • Wet N Wild MegaLiner Liquid Liner in Black
  • Bobbi Brown Long lasting Brow gel in Mahogany
  • Kiko Milano Lip Volume Transparent
  • MAC Lipstick in Diva

Recently I found out on Instagram that her makeup artist Pati Dubroff has shared a bit of products that she used on Priyanka. Let me try sharing a couple of those links. She apparently used Chanel products and a glitter brand called Lemonhead from LA to create this Gilded Goddess kind of look.

Some Tips -
  • Its your regular conventional makeup application which we have seen a lot of times on the blog. Just to achieve a flawless complexion, massage the Sephora Nourishing Oil into the skin. The heat generated by massaging allows the foundation and other products to blend seamlessly.
  • Never apply products without a primer. Primer holds them in place for longer and prevents the sebum from breaking the foundation.
  • The Lip Plumper is a genius and easier way to plump the lips. Use it before starting the makeup. Let the ingredients work into the lips. Tissue off the excess product and then apply Lipstick.
